Standing proudly next to her poster at Pimlico Underground station is artist and specialist wood engraver Anne Desmet. The multi-award-winning Royal Academician is currently exhibiting some of her latest work in ‘Anne Desmet: Kaleidoscope/London’ at the City of London Corporation's Guildhall Art Gallery - the gallery's first solo exhibition to be led by a female artist. #DestinationCity https://bit.ly/3UdDTIv

Henry Pollard will be our new Chief Commoner. He has been elected by the Court of Common Council, our principal decision-making body, and will serve for one year in the role. Mr Pollard will replace the current holder, Peter Dunphy, in Spring. The Chief Commoner – a position first created in 1444 – acts as an ambassador at ceremonial occasions, and works to uphold the rights and standards of City Corporation elected Members. https://bit.ly/4h8SzCu

The Lord Mayor was pleased to have launched the AI Responsible Investor Consensus and Investor Council alongside the The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) with special thanks to Michael Cole-Fontayn and Lori Heinel from State Street Global Advisors. Experts building AI in all sectors will grow public trust in the new technologies by working to shared ethical and professional standards. That’s why the Lord Mayor launched his Ethical AI Initiative which educates professionals in existing standards and gives them frameworks for applying them as they build AI systems. The LOrd Mayor was also delighted to present one of these certificates to Aletta Ely, Chief of Staff at J.P. Morgan. This council will complement the Walbrook Accord signed by regulators from almost 40 nations which promotes standards for firm-wide certification using existing ISO standards rather than the creation of new ones. Facilitating training and skill development for AI assurance professionals.

From the archives: scenes around Guildhall. A sculpture in the 15th century Great Hall; visitors admiring artworks at Guildhall Art Gallery; red chairs set out in Guildhall Yard, the site of London's Roman Amphitheatre; and the view from the Chamberlain's desk in the Chamberlain's Courtroom, where Freedom of the City of London ceremonies are held. #DestinationCity

It was fantastic to mark the #TransitionFinanceMarketReview launch today with a market open at the London Stock Exchange 🌳 'Scaling Transition Finance: Findings of the Transition Finance Market Review', chaired by Vanessa Havard-Williams, outlines a roadmap of policies, initiatives and pathways that can unlock significant capital to scale the market for transition finance right here in the UK and impacting globally. 🤝 The Review, commissioned by the HM Treasury and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, encourages stronger collaboration between Government, regulators and industry, so it was a pleasure to be joined by City Minister Tulip Siddiq MP alongside our Sustainable Finance Lead Irem Yerdelen and other members of the Review's expert panel group to underpin the importance of this partnership as we build on the findings of the Review. 💻 The full findings of the Review can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eaTRx6s8

Published today: Scaling Transition Finance: Findings of the Transition Finance Market Review. Today, we are delighted to launch the publication of the final findings from the Transition Finance Market Review, setting out the critical steps needed to deliver on decarbonisation commitments and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. With BloombergNEF estimating a need for $6.7 trillion in annual investment, the time to act is now. This landmark Review is co-sponsored by HM Treasury and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and hosted by the City of London Corporation. Key findings: 🌍 The UK is uniquely positioned to become a leading hub for a robust transition finance market and use its leadership position for financial and professional services to accelerate the global transition. ⏰ The opportunity is timebound. Failing to act now risks losing ground to other markets that are rapidly building capacity in transition finance. The government, companies and market must act together now to establish a coherent strategy. 🌱 The Review puts forward recommendations on how to unlock required levels of finance by creating the right policies, pathways and signals for investment through collaboration between government, investors, business and civil society. Download the final findings here for more information: https://lnkd.in/eaTRx6s8 #TransitionFinanceMarketReview #IndependentReview #SustainableFinance Thank you to Vanessa Havard-Williams
