Fiona Marie Duffy and Alice Moore have successfully secured a resolution to grant planning permission on behalf of Barsad Investments Ltd for 198 units of student accommodation at 6 Hulse Road, Southampton. The resolution was awarded by Southampton City Council on 20 February.   Located under two miles from the city centre, the 3,768.00 sq metre site is currently occupied by St. Margaret's House, a 1960s block which offers 100 student rooms / suites. The existing block will be demolished to create 198 modern, improved student units.   Sustainability is at the forefront of the designs for this development: the building will incorporate biophilic design principles, and if successful in its aim, will be one of the first buildings in Southampton to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating.   Alice Moore, Associate Director in Boyer’s London office said, “Quality student accommodation is in short supply in Southampton, as with so many other cities. In doubling the number of units currently available on the site, this scheme goes some way to meeting the very pressing need. Delighted to announce that we secured a resolution to grant this week for a new 30 storey, 180 key hotel with 49 residential apartments, which will be the next phase of our Tottenham Hotspur Stadium campus. The scheme further contributes to the sport and leisure destination being created in N17 with football being complemented by a wide range of events all year round, including concerts, NFL, boxing and rugby.
