Our rivers, lakes, streams and groundwaters are under pressure like never before. Pollution from farming, water companies, run-off water from roads and other urban spaces, chemicals and products we use in our daily lives are putting huge strain on our water environments. We need A Fresh Water Future. Early this year, and with a view to the UK’s general election which took place this summer, CIWEM launched an independent review of water sector performance and governance and a co-created expert, stakeholder and public vision for future water management in the UK. Hear CIWEM policy director Alastair Chisholm talk through the approach, findings, recommendations for reform and recovery, and latest thoughts on how the new UK government might prioritise the recovery of the water environment amongst competing policy pressures, on the UK Water Pavillion at World Water Week. 📆 Date: Tuesday 27th ⏰ Time: 12:30 – 13:15 CEST Read more about A Fresh Water Future ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eKY24Nad #UKPavilion #WWWeek #CIWEM #AFreshWaterFuture

They're part of a diverse cohort of young engineers from the ICE and the CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) that have come together to break down silos in the industry. How? Through a series of blogs where the young engineers share their views on what our collective industries need to do to address the climate crisis. What's it like working as a Natural Capital Implementation Manager? CIWEM Environmental Partner Rebecca S. has worked in this role at United Utilities for 7 years, and she has spoken to us about a typical day in her job: "Typically, I start my day by catching up on emails and setting out tasks to complete for the day. Much of my work is ongoing, so it helps to break down large projects into smaller objectives to keep track of progress. I also like to keep updated with advancements in natural capital and nature-related reporting by attending webinars and occasionally speaking as a panel member to contribute to the conversation. An important part of my role is maintaining industry contacts and sharing experiences with colleagues to ensure I can bring best practices to my activities." Find out what skills Rebecca needs to do her role, the recent projects she's worked on, and how CIWEM has helped her professional development 👇 https://lnkd.in/eNWhiis2 #ADayInTheLife #NaturalCapital #Environment #CharteredMember
