Feeling a bit stuck? Get moving for next week’s Mental Health Awareness Week (13th-19th May)! This year's theme is "Movement: Moving more for our mental health" and it's a reminder that even small changes can make a big difference. Let's face it, fitting in exercise isn't always easy. But research shows that even short bursts of activity can boost our mood, reduce stress, and improve sleep – all key components of good mental well-being. Paula, our Head of Service: Clinical Operations enjoys wild swimming, Kieran, our Commercial Account Manager loves fell walking (having recently scaled Mount Snowdon – pictured below), and while his knees aren't what they used to be, our Marketing Manager Mathew still enjoys early morning endurance runs. But it doesn't have to be an all or nothing approach. This Mental Health Awareness Week, why not find ways to move that fit seamlessly into your daily routine? Here are some ideas to get you started: 👉 Swap screen time for step time: Take a lunchtime walk around the block, explore a new part of your neighbourhood, or even just walk the stairs instead of taking the lift. 👉 Turn up the tunes: Blast your favourite music and dance in your living room. No one’s watching, and it's a guaranteed mood lifter. 👉 Exercise with ease: Do some gentle chair exercises while you catch up on your favourite show, stretch while waiting for the kettle to boil, or park further away from your destination and walk the extra distance. Every bit counts! Want to learn more about the benefits behind exercise and mental health? Check out our blog post in the comments below.  Whatever exercise you plan during Mental Health Awareness Week, make sure it is fun! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MHAW24 #MomentsForMovement #Claimont
