Clean for Good is a different kind of cleaning company - a social business delivering ethical cleaning for London
About us
Clean for Good is a different kind of cleaning company. We are a business with a social purpose. We provide good quality contract cleaning services to customers across London and also value and respect our cleaners. What makes us different? 1 - We are one of the few cleaning companies in London which is an accredited Living Wage Employer - paying the London Living Wage to all of our cleaners all of the time 2 - We employ our cleaners directly, ensuring that they recieve full employment benefits, including paid sick leave and paid annual leave 3 - We train and manage our cleaners professionally and invest in them This is good for our cleaners, good for customers and good for London. Our aim is to reinvent the cleaning sector – moving away from low pay, poor retention and the image of dead-end work to create satisfying and rewarding work, with cleaning services that everyone can be proud of, and employees who are treated and paid fairly. 'We have designed our studios....... to be society centric'. Great reviews below of the space created by one of our wonderful clients! We love cleaning the studio at Hawkins\Brown and have always been a welcomed and included part of the team. Great to have a client that walks the walk (in so many ways) and has been at the forefront of bringing in a fairer and more dignified approach to cleaning in the capital. Bravo!
We’re celebrating our First Birthday in our new studio at 30 Clerkenwell Road. It’s been a lively first twelve months and we’ve enjoyed experimenting with new ways of working and welcoming our colleagues, clients and collaborators, fuelled by 47,000 cups of coffee from our new coffee machine. Huge thanks to so many talented colleagues who've brought this space to life and to Nuveen, a TIAA company, Devono, West 1 , CogentBC LLP, Clean for Good, Waterstons and everyone else who has helped us along the way. We’ve had some lovely reviews from our friends at Dezeen and Mix Interiors https://lnkd.in/gRYXGf6e / https://lnkd.in/gz5K8XEb and we even gave ourselves a half-decent write-up too... https://lnkd.in/gi2Nj7rz But, even better, if you’d like to see what we’ve been up to, come and say hello in person and help us get to that 50,000th cup of coffee…

This is a really important campaign on sick pay being run The Centre for Progressive Change Take a read and Clean for Good are delighted to support it in full!
“The Government’s plan to extend statutory sick pay and make it payable from day one are very welcome, but they need to go further. The low rate of sick pay is fundamentally unsafe and jeopardises workers' recovery from illness.”- Amanda Walters Director of Centre for Progressive Change. Here is our statement in full as the employment bill is published today, Thursday 10th October. https://lnkd.in/eqEdBp7X

Great that MD Charlie Walker was a part of the conversation around worker rights and employer responsibilities on radio 5 live 'Wake up to Money' this morning! Whilst we welcome government measures which precipitate companies to treat people more fairly, at CFG we are are already meeting these requirements and more! If you want to deep dive into 1 of them - Statutory Sick Pay (a bad system in our view) then take a read of our latest blog here: https://lnkd.in/ey-ew9h6

The 'Waiting Days' are over! This week the government are going to announce their new employment rights bill. Within the raft of measures, it is rumoured that ‘waiting days’ associated with Statutory Sick Pay will be removed. Want to find out more? Then take a read of the latest Clean for Good blog: https://lnkd.in/ey-ew9h6
The 'Waiting Days' are over! This week the government are going to announce their new employment rights bill. Within the raft of measures, it is rumoured that ‘waiting days’ associated with Statutory Sick Pay will be removed. No idea what I am talking about? Nor did I, before joining Clean for Good. In short 'waiting days' are an awful reality for many thousands of cleaners and low paid workers who find themselves sick at work. Great campaign from The Centre for Progressive Change Check it out and get in touch with Caroline Reilly if this is you!
💔 At £116 a week (equiv. £4 an hour), people on Statutory Sick Pay cannot pay the bills or provide for their families. This often results in people being forced back into work, slowing their recovery, lowering productivity, and potentially infecting others. At the Centre for Progressive Change, convening the Safe Sick Pay Campaign, we are calling for a better deal for all when we fall sick. ✅ If you are an employer that is already going above Statutory Sick Pay to protect your workers with decent levels of sick pay, please get in touch with the campaign's Business Lead, Caroline Reilly (caroline.reilly@centreforprogressivechange.org) 📨 Your support can help the campaign to demonstrate what is already being done in this space to the Government. SME experiences are especially welcomed.

It's Pay day & all 79 of our brilliant cleaners have received the London Living wage or More (!) for every hour worked this month. 🥳 🎉 Over 6,000 hours of cleaning, on 60 different client sites across the capital. Each site bringing in fairness of pay, dignity in work and (we believe) an excellent cleaning service!

We are thrilled to be the new cleaners at the Sotheby's Institute of Art! It is a wonderful building saturated with history, filled with art and bustling with students during term time. Lots to keep us on our toes! Thankyou Sotheby's Institute of Art for choosing Clean For Good and a fairer London. As a result we have had the joy of welcoming a whole new team into the CFG family, earning at least the London Living wage for every hour worked, and lots more!

We are at the 'Make London a Living Wage City' meeting this morning A brilliant campaign run by Citizens UK Living Wage Foundation to urge cleaning, security & other facility management companies to address the injustice of low pay. Do you work in the cleaning, security, facility management sector? Are you an accredited Living Wage employer? If not, why not? Great to have the wonderful Just Helpersin the room too!
