This is a lovely read on Ceefax - “The internet before the internet was thought of”. I still remember checking weather page 402 to see if I needed to take a coat to school. A proper blast of nostalgia and one for several of my old BBC News Online colleagues who cut their teeth working on it. #ceefax #bbcnewsonline #internet

**How easy is it for women in the PR industry to return to work after having a baby?** In the latest bonus episode of THE PERFECT PRESS RELEASE podcast, I was delighted to speak to Emma Padden, one of the founders of PR Mums - a unique community offering a pathway for former PRs to return to work after starting a family. Emma is also something of a PR guru having worked as a senior director for many of the UK's biggest agencies. We covered a lot of ground, including: - How press releases remain a vital tool both for start-ups and big companies working with agencies - How to avoid 'too many cooks' when clients try to get involved in editing press releases - The importance of maintaining strong relationships with your core media audience (EG. taking Sophie Ridge out for lunch!) Here's a little snippet, and the full episode will be out next week. You can follow the podcast wherever you listen - links to Apple and Spotify are in the comments. #PR #podcast #PRMums #returntowork #pressreleases #ThePerfectPressRelease

Confession: I was a bit nervous before heading to my 25-year Uni reunion at the weekend. I hadn’t seen most of these faces since we’d all thrown our mortar boards in the air on graduation. Working for myself, the imposter syndrome was real! But I really shouldn’t have worried. Although everyone now works in different fields it seems we have all had enough ups and downs in our lives to prove that life (and frankly a few years on the clock) are a bit of a leveller. We reminisced about career highs and lows, kids and family life and just how we all ended up where we had. It was great fun to recount shared experiences, inside jokes, and challenges overcome together as a tight-knit course. It’s also a reminder of a sense of belonging and identity and the fact that we were all very different people heading out into the world as graduates, than we were going into Uni having just done our A Levels. The 25-year reunion was not just a gathering of old mates; it was a celebration of the importance of staying connected. Great to see you all David Waddell Tom Clarke Matt Roberts Patrick Howells John Willats Sarah Alton Sian Freestone-Walker

Can’t stand “Genny Lec” but loved “Platty Joobs”? “One person’s cringe is another person’s clever” I love language for its constant evolution and jokey slang is the nursery slopes towards when words get established into the mainstream. (Staycation, anyone?) Wherever you sit on the scale, this is a great read… #GennyLec #CozzieLivs #PlattyJoobs #Slang #Language #ClementStories #Communication
‘Genny lec’ and ‘cozzie livs’. And who can afford 'savvy b'? British slang is daft, but it is breaking taboos | Coco Khan

Excited to have a day of voiceover work. After 20 years of being on the radio, it’s the closest I get to broadcasting these days. Still love being behind the microphone! 🎙️ #voiceover #vo #clementstories #voiceactor #readingoutloud
