2024 has been a milestone year for Closed Loop Medicine. Even as the year draws to a close, we’re excited to share one final announcement—the publication of a peer-reviewed study in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR Publications), detailing the outcomes of the CURE-19 trial, which demonstrated the effectiveness of our digital platform for remote blood pressure and medication monitoring. Key Outcomes: ➡️ High Engagement and Adherence: 84% of participants consistently submitted BP data over 12 weeks ➡️ Effective and Safe: Stable blood pressure control was achieved with no adverse events, validating its safety for long-term use in community settings ➡️ Positive User Experience: Participants praised the user-friendly interface Earlier this year, the PERSONAL COVID BP trial showcased the capabilities of our integrated precision care solution for hypertension treatment. As the year concludes, the CURE-19 study further underscores the success of our effective and user-friendly platform, highlighting its utility and feasibility in supporting remote disease management within healthcare systems. The term #PrecisionMedicine, an offshoot from modern #Medicine, raises questions about the precision of current therapeutic approaches. Perhaps #ImpreciseMedicine would better capture the reality of medical practice. Historically, medicines were developed based on clinical trials primarily involving 80kg white men, a far cry from the diverse populations they serve today. This leads to overdosing in women and under-dosing in patients over 100kg, highlighting the need for more tailored approaches. Reflecting on Paracelsus' wisdom from the 15th century, "only the dose makes the poison," emphasizes the critical role of dosage in the efficacy and safety of treatments. Every substance we ingest can be beneficial or harmful, depending on its quantity. Closed Loop Medicine envisions a future where technology enables true precision in healthcare for everyone.
