Don’t expect to be accepted if you want to be exceptional.  To become exceptional, by definition, you are the exception.

It took me 5 years to build unshakeable confidence using neuroscience and sports psychology. I’ll teach you in 2 mins👇🏽 1. Visualise a self confident image - all the best athletes and champions in the world do this. They see who they want to be and how they want to act - I practice my visualisation everyday for 7 minutes. My confidence continues to build. - The more you repeat, the more it becomes your identity. 2. Celebrate constantly - take notice of your little wins and become your biggest fan. - Practice regular self reflection and create a mental archive of victories to draw upon. - Celebrate others too. Basically GET THE POM POMS OUT. 3. Body language is king. - Do: smile more, give eye contact, chin up, chest out, take space, walk strong - Don’t: frown, shrink yourself, eyes downcast, shoulders hunched - Always ask yourself, what is my body language saying? Is it confident? 4. Feel the fear and do it anyway - just try!!!! Confidence is all about going for it and trying - Yes you’re still going to have self doubt and fear. But true confidence is acting despite it. Start small and then build. - send the text. hit post. apply for the job. 5. Practice being disciplined - it’s the highest form of integrity and self love. - Keep the promises you make to yourself - show yourself you can actually commit to something. No matter how tiny. Instead of just ‘appearing’ confident on the outside… I actually feel confident in myself. And trust me, it’s a completely different experience. No one is born confident. It’s a skill. In case you missed it, over the past week or so in honour of World MS Day we have been using our expertise and our links to drive some fantastic awareness of MS for patients. We were thrilled to have the support of Prof Klaus Schmierer a leading MS consultant and two patients who had late onset MS, who shared their experiences of getting diagnosed and living with MS. In preparing for this, we were thoughtful about the higher rates of MS which occur in Scotland. It was great therefore to have one patient in Glasgow which resulted in some fantastic coverage in BBC Scotland and the Scotsman (link in comments), which not only highlighted these higher rates but gave unique insights about those who were diagnosed later with MS. This is a key focus for us – traditionally diagnosis often occurs for people age 20-40 but we are seeing rising rates of late onset MS, in addition to the majority of existing patients now being in their 50s and 60s according to MS Society figures. This is a patient demographic that doesn’t often get much awareness and resources are scarce, so it was important for our team to try to give this issue a more prominent voice. I am proud that we were able to achieve coverage in BBC London, BBC Scotland, the Scotsman and the Daily Express. Honoured beyond words to receive the Global Leadership Award at the International Education Conference 2.0 in Dubai. Honestly, this feels surreal.
