⭐ Holborn ⭐ South Tyneside Council are regenerating the Holborn Riverside Area of South Shields to transform the former industrial dockland into an area suitable for residential development. Coast Consulting Engineers are acting for housing developers Keepmoat Homes and Cussins Ltd CUSSINS (NORTH EAST) LIMITED to monitor the ongoing remediation works to ensure that the works meet the required specification.   The regeneration includes the following:   Demolition and processing of former industrial structures. Sealing the entrance and infilling a large dry dock to create additional development area. Restoration of three other dry docks with provision of a new riverside promenade. Extensive earthworks to regrade the site to a profile suitable for residential development. Construction of new river walls. 📢 📢 📢 We're hiring 📢 📢 📢 🌲 Geo-Environmental Engineer 🌲 Salary Depending on Experience Job description Coast Consulting Engineers Ltd require a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in the North East of England. The role is suitable for experienced (up to 5 years) geo-environmental engineers but we will also consider new graduates in geological and earth sciences. This full time post will be based in our Cramlington office at Northumberland Business Park, NE23 7RY, but will require travelling to sites around the region and occasionally to other areas of the UK. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for managing ground investigation projects, including the following: 🌿 Desk Top Study reports. 🌿 Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRA). 🌿 Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork such as trial pitting, window sampling, cable percussion, rotary drilling etc. 🌿 Supervision of remediation schemes. 🌿 Logging of soils and rocks to British Standard as well as geotechnical / geo-environmental sampling for laboratory testing. 🌿 Ground gas and water monitoring. 🌿 Depending on experience, input into interpretive reports. Qualifications / Requirements Essential: Degree in a relevant geological or earth sciences degree. A full UK driving licence and own car. Desirable: Masters degree in geotechnical or environmental (earth science) discipline.
