The annual Cobham Hall Inter-House Cross Country took place last Friday. Students (and some staff!) took the course which covered most of the grounds and included some steep hills and mixed terrain. Kaya (Year 13) maintained his lead throughout to take the title of 1st place boy for the second year running, and Milly (Year 8 ) finished as 1st girl which is an incredible achievement at such a young age. As part of Curriculum Enhancement Week last academic year, current Year 8, 9, 10 and 13 students created female portrait art pieces to reflect on how art can be used as a tool for social change and awareness. This activity was to raise awareness and introduce students to how gender may silence and disadvantage women in all aspects of our society today. Students explored and discussed views and opinions around education, sport, the workplace and heath. Interesting conversations were sparked, and together they brainstormed examples of where these gaps exist, potential barriers, and their impact on women and girls. The portrait pieces created will be displayed in the Community Space for Kent Police at Bluewater Shopping Centre on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th October. There will be a Community Liaison Officer there from 8.00am – 4.00pm on both days and where resources allow, there will be up to 2 uniformed officers present. However, the art work itself can be seen outside of those hours.

100 'aurora' points for Cobham Hall✨ Aurora, also commonly known as the northern lights or southern lights, is a natural light display in Earth's sky, predominantly seen in high-latitude regions, yet we were lucky to see this phenomenon in Kent! #northanlights #aurora #kent

Congratulations to Cobham Hall Elder Daisy (Class of 2024), whose photographic work ‘Layers of Time’ has been selected to move through to the next round of judging in the GSA Go Bold photography competition. The judges have shortlisted eight entries to go through to the next round, stating that the standard of photography has been extremely high. Daisy studied A Level photography at Cobham Hall, completing her course this summer. Daisy's photograph is inspired by the changing of time, and how we perceive the world through multiple viewpoints. Her work layers different views together, creating an image that shows many moments integrated into one. We wish Daisy the best of luck for the next round!
