Really pleased that this project was undertaken because it speaks to a vitally important aspect of online and distance education.
How do you design for an inclusive culture for online and distance education students across the world? Well, thanks to Advance HE's Collaborative Development Fund (2023-24), I led a project with University of London, Centre for Online and Distance Education, University of London, King's College London and University of the Arts London to address this question. With students, the team conducted design research to discover and define what students believe equality, diversity and inclusion mean in their own national and regional contexts and cultures. Using these insights the University of London Worldwide team are now looking to develop an 'Inclusive Culture Hub' that will enable students from across the world to self-direct and reflect on learning about equality, diversity and inclusion, through a global and intersectional lens. Thank you to the project team: Linda Amrane-cooper, Jonthan San Diego, Joanne Harris CMgr MCMI, Sebastian May, Tim Wade. Thank you to the Centre for Online and Distance Education, University of London Student Research Fellows. Reports can be accessed through Advance HE's Knowledge Hub, as a member benefit, here: https://lnkd.in/ew3xwnPy #equality #diversity #inclusion #highereducation #equity #student
