We're attending the SC Conference Series #SC24 next month! One of the events we're most looking forward to is the UXL Foundation hosted breakfast. This will be a great opportunity to meet experts in open-source development with #SYCL and #oneAPI. Best of all, it's open to everyone and free to attend. Whether you're a member of the UXL Foundation or just interested to learn more about heterogeneous code and open standards, we hope to see you there. Register by Nov 4th to attend. https://lnkd.in/eh68NE5E

The NWChemEx project is open-source computational chemistry code, renowned for its high and parallel processing capabilities, and offers extensive functionality for modeling molecular systems. However, the project faces a challenge in maintaining sustainable and portable software with multiple accelerator backends. The project has used CUDA, HIP and #SYCL for NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs respectively - which brings with it challenges around benchmarking consistency, bugs, and more. That's why the Argonne National Laboratory has developed a cross-platform, portable SYCL implementation to support multiple accelerators with single-source code! Find out how Argonne National Labs achieved performance and portability with SYCL and #oneAPI in this detailed case study. It's a great example of unified software's benefits, in an increasingly diverse hardware landscape. https://lnkd.in/eNJEcSXu

This year, the #BEDE Supercomputer at Durham University added 3 NVIDIA Grace Hopper nodes, which combines Arm processors with high-performance GPUs. In this recent blog, our team shares our experience compiling #DPC++ for the NVIDIA Grace Hopper platform on BEDE and shows you how to build benchmarks, as well as how to build the #oneMKL library. As new and innovative hardware continues to evolve, the need for standardised and heterogeneous, vendor-neutral code with #oneAPI and #SYCL is clear. Read the blog below, and see how you can bring open standards to your code on supercomputers like BEDE. https://lnkd.in/esKKQhyJ

💬 “RISC-V is the fast growing, open standard instruction set architecture for processors of all types including CPUs and accelerators...The European Union, as part of its European Processor Initiative (EPI), is also looking to create their own microprocessor powered by RISC-V.” Now, RISC-V processor designers can seamlessly integrate SYCL and the oneAPI ecosystem with their hardware through the oneAPI Construction Kit. Codeplay Software's latest 4.0 release of the oneAPI Construction Kit introduced RISC-V native host for the first time, enabling developers to run code on a CPU and leverage the acceleration that SYCL offers through data parallelism.
