We were delighted to welcome a group of MBA students specialising in sustainability and innovation from the University of Oregon to our New Kent Road site last week. This scheme has been delivered in partnership with Southern Housing, one of the largest housing providers in the UK. It was fascinating to hear about Southern Housing's environmental sustainability strategy and sustainability performance, as well as their commitment to decarbonising their homes and heat networks. The tour of the New Kent Road scheme included a visit to the plant room to look at the hybrid heating system and a studio apartment for a discussion around Heat Interface Units. This technology is helping to improve future home standards, driving efficiencies and reducing carbon emissions. In partnership with Wates Group and the London Borough of Havering, we are working on the regeneration of the Hilldene and Farnham Estate. As part of this project, we envisioned supporting a budding young student from Havering in pursuing a university education in Architecture. Thank you ColladoCollins for engaging with Aggregate Industries UK to learn about embodied carbon within concrete, how this impacts buildings and the ways it can be considered by architects beyond just the aesthetic. Our recap of July 2024 seeks to share some of our recent successes and office antics. We are ecstatic to announce the completion of our Berkhamsted scheme, The Denton. The low rise- integrated retirement community delivers 103 dwellings within the tree- lined site on the outskirts of Berkhamsted. The scheme, designed partially during the pandemic, faced many challenges, however its presence now is a testament to the team’s perseverance in the face of adversity. We also were the proud sponsors of this year’s ARCO Conference; an integral networking and agenda-setting event for the Integrated Retirement Community sector. Finally, we managed to get away from the office as a team, to Port Hamble of Southampton, where we became keen sailors, reaching the Isle of Wight for a delicious team lunch. A large thanks to our team once again, for achieving these excellent feats, and for some excellent sailing!

It is a pleasure to share final pics of our recently completed retirement village scheme in Berkhamsted for Elysian Residences Ltd and Octopus Real Estate.   The standard of the 103 luxury apartments and hotel-style facilities offered at The Denton is really quite exceptional. Residents will enjoy a double-height lobby, restaurant, bar, library, function room, gym and treatment rooms, with 24-hour care if needed, in addition to thoughtfully designed, spacious private apartments.   The project was constructed using a traditional brick façade and concrete frame structure, employing sustainable construction elements including prefabricated bathroom pods and utility cupboards, and bolt-on balconies. Throughout the construction of this scheme, our community liaison team have undertaken a programme of engagement with the local community including visits to local schools to talk about site safety, and volunteering to support local community projects and charity events.   Congratulations to our Berkhamsted project team for all their hard work and dedication in bringing this stunning scheme to life!
