Our recent third Subcontractor Social was a huge success with over 50 partners attending The Oche at The Strand. This annual event offers a chance to introduce new members of the Collins team, connect with our key partners, and discuss how we can work together more effectively—all while enjoying some food and drinks. It’s our way of saying thank you to those people who help us deliver great work for our clients and who are so integral to the success of our projects. #refurbishment #fitout #construction

About us
Collins has been established since 1956 and our core business has always been the provision of refurbishment and fit out services to owners and occupiers. We deliver projects from £50,000 to £30 million under most forms of contract within the commercial office, healthcare, education and leisure sectors. The majority of our projects are carried out in London and the South East area, although we have undertaken projects nationally for existing clients. We pride ourselves on the quality of our service and finish. Our proactive, flexible and honest approach enables us to negotiate over 40% of our turnover, and over 90% of our work is repeat business from existing clients and consultants.

Many of our projects have a strong history, and it’s our team who brings them to life. Project Director, Mark Sargent is transforming 63-66 Coleman Street, 57,000 sq. ft/ seven floors of space in the city into premium office space. When showcasing the building to wider Collins, clients or visitors he likes to offer a history on the significance of Coleman’s location in the city. The façade dates back to the 17th Century and is connected to the family of one of the 59 regicides who signed the death warrant of King Charles I in the first month of 1649. The team is now preserving the heritage façade on floors 1-5. Through meticulous stonework restoration and the installation of new heritage sash windows, Collins’ aims to honour the architectural legacy while bringing it into the 21st century. As we enter our third year of our apprenticeship scheme in collaboration with London South Bank University, we welcome two new apprentices to the business. Oliver Charlton and Jake Bell join us from different backgrounds but both wanting to embark on a career in construction. Jake has just completed his A Levels in Art, Business and Philosophy, studying urban buildings which led to his passion for construction. Oliver brings hands-on experience from working as a Plant Operator at Land and Water. We operate a rotational apprenticeship model so our new joiners get to experience every part of the business from commercial, to site management, through to compliance. This provides them with a well-rounded insight into how our teams work together to deliver for our clients. We welcome Jake and Oliver to the team! #apprentices #refurbishment #fitout

Last Friday, Collins took part in Korn Ferry’s touch rugby tournament, with members from Chapman Architects , Blacktip Consultancy, GDM Group, and ADP Consulting joining the Collins team to raise money for The Prince’s Trust. The sun was shining, which was a welcome change from last year's rain, and although we didn't quite make it to the finals, a good time was had by all. Food and drinks were flowing, and while it was meant to be a non-contact event, a few tackles might have accidentally slipped through (oops, not allowed!). It was a fantastic day of teamwork, and all for a great cause. Thank you Korn Ferry for accommodating us! #teamwork

Collins’ Senior PM, Stephen Kelly led the day-to-day delivery of PATRIZIA SE's Endell Street international hub to transform the 35,000 sq. ft former H Club members club into an innovative hospitality-led Grade A office space, and he says flexibility on a project is crucial. Coordinating the resin application on Ground, Level 1 Reception, and Level 4 required a shutdown of each floor for seven days to allow the resin to set. This required precise planning and Stephen re-sequenced the program early on to keep activity fluid and easily adaptable. This allowed the team to make the required adjustments and extend the timeline strategically, ensuring a more seamless progress overall. #refurbishment #fitout #workplace

Taking a closer look into fitting out the boardroom at PATRIZIA SE's Endell Street. It took months of careful planning and design to bring this vision to life. The challenge? Removing a gable block wall and its supporting beam, which formed a critical part of the building’s structure. This wall connected two pitched roofs at the gable end, making access and support a tricky task. The team designed a system to support each block in a stepped format, all while ensuring space for the installation of new steel supports and future ductwork services in the CAT B. To top it off, they added four new roof lights on the south elevation, enhancing the space with natural light through existing cladding panels and a slate roof. Project Director Mark Sargent handed over the completed Cat A to project manager Stephen Kelly to deliver the high quality Cat B transforming this spacious but dark roof space into a key meeting place for the senior team. #refurb #fitout

Our £9.6m, London Bridge Cat A refurb is taking shape with works on three floors underway and a 5th floor handover complete. Four months in and the team has already scored 45/45 on a recent CCS visit. Our CSR scores were particularly high. A big focus across all our sites is the wellbeing and mental health of our employees and supporting the communities around us, this includes supporting Charites such as Centre Point and Calling London. A big well done to Head of Health and Safety Shaun Harris, Sustainability Advisor Zara Gardner, and Senior Project Manager Chris M. for their time and commitment to this CCS. #refurb #fitout #ccs

Great to see Landsec’s Myo New Street Square, featured in the latest issue of Mix Interiors. A fit out that, through structural modifications, has delivered additional space that supports wellbeing and offers the design and facilities that today’s employees expect. A great article and a great project, working with our partners dMFK, B&CO, exigere, Hive Group, Ekkist and Parmarbrook, Read the digital version of Mix Interiors here: https://lnkd.in/e87M3j3f
