Managing and serving Birmingham's Business District.
About us
Colmore Business District is a business improvement district (BID) established to project manage improvements and services to the business quarter of Birmingham. A BID is a defined geographical area within which local businesses collaborate to invest in projects, services and initiatives which improve the environment in which they work. Colmore BID is financed through a 1.5% levy on the rateable value paid by a business. The levy applies to businesses with a rateable value of £10,000 or above and levies are capped at £25,000. The BID company is a not-for-profit and democratically elected company. BIDs deliver additional services to those provided by a local authority. Colmore Business District’s first term ran from April 2009 to March 2014. The BID secured a resounding Yes vote in its renewal ballot for a second five-year term from April 2014 to March 2019. Those in favour made up 94% of the turnout by number and 96% of the aggregate rateable value represented by those voting. The turnout was 61%. In 2018, Colmore BID secured another successful Yes vote for its third BID term, which commenced on 1 April 2019. Those in favour made up 96% of the turnout by number and 98% of the aggregate rateable value represented by those voting. The turnout was 64%. The result is one of the best in the country.

I help people reduce their anxiety | 15+ years experience | Award-winning psychologist | Author of High Functioning Anxiety | Pre-order today & let’s get you thriving
Ever feel like you're stuck in a cycle of self-doubt, holding yourself back from reaching your full potential? Ever wondered why you do this? Yesterday, I had the privilege of delivering a webinar for Colmore BID on Managing Anxiety and Imposter Syndrome. And, true to my style, we dove deep into these topics! For me, it’s never about simply putting a plaster on a wound and hoping it heals with time. I spent years doing that before I truly understood the power of addressing the root cause. This topic is something I’m incredibly passionate about, especially since it all connects back to High Functioning Anxiety. One of the things I love sharing is that we don’t have to stay trapped in limiting patterns that hold us back or sabotage our success. We are capable of so much more – but it takes courage to acknowledge these patterns and break free from them. I especially enjoy working with high-achieving individuals, helping them recognise their self-sabotaging behaviours so they can truly soar. Don’t dim your light for others – step into your full potential! Heather Woodhouse Kelsey Dwyer Felicity Blades

We are excited to announce our latest project to revitalise Livery Street subway, one of Birmingham’s key city-centre pedestrian links. In partnership with Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQ BID) and rental living investor/operator Moda Living, the long-awaited transformation will address years of maintenance issues, anti-social behaviour, and safety concerns, aimed at enhancing the connectivity between the Colmore and Jewellery Quarter Districts. “We saw a great opportunity to work together to uplift this important yet overlooked part of the city,” said Melanie Williams, Board Director and Chair of Colmore BID’s Outstanding Places Working Group. “By creating a more welcoming and visually engaging environment, we hope to enhance the overall experience for pedestrians, bringing life and vibrancy to this key link between two major districts.” 🤝 Designs by Adam Nathaniel Furman (Hon FRIBA) Michele Wilby Philip Singleton Mike Mounfield Jonathan Bryce Katy Paddock Heather Woodhouse Tim Hall Birmingham City Council Read the story in full via ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ehpA7RMf
