📣 We’re thrilled to announce Project ACE’s 3rd year, with two new scholars--Shara and Christian-- joining our journey to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders! Through ACE - Actions for Communities and Environment, we're not just providing laptops, monthly allowances, and mentorship; we’re offering transformative, hands-on learning experiences with partner communities and within the stunning Danjugan Island Wildlife Sanctuary in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Philippines. By supporting these scholars, you’re investing in three essential pillars of sustainable change: Education, Livelihood, and Environment. Join us in expanding our impact and ensuring that each scholar is equipped to create real-world solutions for a thriving planet. Together, we can build a sustainable legacy! 🌍📈 Project ACE is made possible through collaboration with our partners Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation and LMAX Group 🙌 #InvestInEducation #ProjectACE #LMaxGroup #PRRCFI #CommunitiesForNature photo c/o PRRCFI

As families head off on holidays this half term, we remember Melissa Tilling, the inspiring founder of our partner organisation, Charitable Travel. Melissa was a passionate advocate for sustainable travel, always reminding us of the importance of considering our impact on the planet, especially in light of the ongoing climate emergency. Her unwavering commitment to creating a better, more sustainable travel industry was truly contagious. Melissa’s work spanned private enterprises, social causes, and charities, all rooted in her deep belief that travel can—and should—be a force for good. She was also a dedicated supporter of Communities For Nature, recognizing the essential link between responsible tourism and environmental conservation. Her vision for blending travel with positive social impact continues to inspire us and perfectly aligns with our mission to protect the natural world. Melissa’s legacy has set the stage for a more conscious and responsible approach to travel, and we at CfN sincerely hope that her vision inspires all of us to ensure travel benefits both people and the planet. Melissa, your impact lives on. 💚🌱 #SustainableTravel #TravelForGood #MelissaTilling #CharitableTravel #ClimateAction #ResponsibleTourism #CommunitiesForNature #Inspiration

An interesting article by World Economic Forum --https://lnkd.in/ekQaj6tc Philanthropy can be a driving force for climate action. By aligning investments with real-world emissions reductions, smaller organizations can amplify their impact beyond grant-making. Together, foundations can harness collective strength, mobilizing network capital for equitable climate solutions. Supporting climate justice alongside DEI goals is challenging but achievable—and often financially rewarding. By sharing learnings and increasing transparency, the philanthropic community can drive systemic change and set a new standard for climate-focused finance. #CommunitiesForNature #ClimateAction #Philanthropy #SustainableInvesting #Impact #JustTransition #Equity

✨ Ever wondered where Migratory birds go? 🐦 Philippines is one of the major migratory pathways of waterbirds like egrets, terns, sandpipers, and stilts that fly through the East Asian-Australasian Flyway (EAAF). On October 12, 2024, Oceanus Conservation, in collaboration with the city government of Bais, Negros Oriental, and the United Fisherfolk Association of Capiñahan (UFAC), is conducting a water bird census in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2024. 👥 Oceanus Conservation's Community-led Mangrove and Migratory Bird Conservation Project continues to progress towards its goal of spreading awareness on bird migration, especially regarding the role of the Philippines in the East Asian-Australasian Flyway (EAAF). 🔭 Conducting regular activities such as the ongoing water bird census in Bais allows the community to practice their birdwatching skills and, in time, pass the knowledge on to others. The information from this activity will support future studies relating to bird migration patterns. Stay tuned to learn more about #MigratoryBirds in the Philippines! ✨ #EAAF #WMBD2024 #worldmigratorybirdday Credits: Satellite map from Google Maps

Today, and every day, we recognize the vital role of mental health in helping communities thrive. As we work closely with people in the frontlines of the climate crisis, we emphasize the importance of mental well-being in fostering healthy, supportive environments. On this #WorldMentalHealthDay, we stand in solidarity with our partner communities and reaffirm our commitment to nurturing mental well-being. May we listen more and hold space for each other knowing well that compassion is what builds a stronger, healthier, and more resilient society.
