Our priorities for budget discussions with Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and Welsh MSs? 🟢 New affordable homes 🟢 Homelessness prevention We saw extra money allocated to two key grants that fund these things (the Social Housing Grant and Housing Support Grant) for 2024/25 - despite it being a challenging year for Welsh Government's budget planning. Now as we look to 2025/26, we are once again working hard to show just how crucial this money is to services that change people's lives in Wales. We recently kicked off the conversation with Sian Gwenllian MS at Plaid Cymru's autumn conference. In a fringe session with Cymorth Cymru and frontline workers from Pobl Group and The Wallich, we set out that urgent action and a coordinated response are needed to tackle the homelessness and housing crisis - and that adequate government funding is crucial to this work continuing. Check out our full report from the conference at the link in the comments 🔗

(Cymraeg isod) How can we change the system to increase the numbers of social homes available and end the housing emergency once and for all? That's the question Darren Baxter, of Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), Hayley Macnamara, of Community Housing Cymru, and Walis George, of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, are discussing now. #PeopleAndHomes --- Sut allwn ni newid y system i gynyddu nifer y tai cymdeithasol sydd ar gael, a dod â’r argyfwng tai i ben unwaith ac am byth?
