Compact and Bale 's founder and chairman Steve Burnett looking back on a twin traversing compactor system that we installed for a county council. This system enabled their fleet of split body RCVs to tip their #foodwaste content at a centrally based waste transfer station which saved them making a 3 hour round trip to an anaerobic digestion plant - saving lots of money in the process! They also kept their expensive RCVs and crews working where they should be not driving an hour's journey each way because their food waste compartment was full. #localauthority #countycouncil #food #waste #recycling

Compact and Bale can help! We have experience of supplying waste compaction solutions for even the most challenging of waste streams, enabling split body collection vehicles to empty their food waste content quickly and efficiently so that they can be "bulked up" locally and then transported in maximum payloads for onward processing. 🚛💡 Waste Handling: Baled & Wrapped vs. Loose – What’s the Smarter Choice? When it comes to waste management, efficiency and sustainability are key. One powerful strategy is to bale and wrap waste instead of sending it loose. Here’s why more industries are opting for this smarter approach: 1️⃣ Improved Efficiency: Baling waste compresses material, reducing volume by up to 80%. This means fewer trips, saving on transportation costs and lowering your carbon footprint. 2️⃣ Containment & Cleanliness: Baled and wrapped waste prevents leakage, odour, and contamination during export. It keeps waste secure and contained, reducing spillage and potential environmental impact. 3️⃣ Space Optimization: Wrapped bales are compact and stackable, maximizing storage space and making transportation more organized and cost-effective. Why round bales? No corners means no edges to get caught and split. 4️⃣ Enhanced Safety: Loose waste can shift during transport, increasing the risk of accidents. Baled waste stays in place, improving safety for drivers and handlers. 5️⃣ Regulatory Compliance: Properly baled and wrapped waste ensures that your company complies with regulations around safe waste transport and disposal, minimizing the risk of penalties. 6️⃣ Disposal costs: Disposal cost for the offtake of loose waste is set to increase in 2025 along with landfill costs. Baling and Wrapping is a more cost effective solution. 🌱 The Result? Cost savings, reduced environmental impact, and a more sustainable waste management process. Is your operation ready to make the shift? #WasteManagement #Sustainability #Efficiency #Logistics

Just saying..... I don't know about you, but if I was going to rent or buy a baler for RDF, especially a mobile one that I was going to move from site to site, I would be given lots of confidence by seeing that the baler in question (that I only wanted to bale small pieces of dry paper, plastic, etc in) was quite capable of baling tough materials like old car tyres, as it doesn't really get any harder for a baler than car tyres, does it? Yeah, that would impress me, that would! What about you, would that impress you? #rdf #srf #biomass #msw #efw #wastetoenergy #energyfromwaste #energyrecovery #greeneconomy

Come on..... Tell me honestly...... How many hours per week do your staff spend crushing, cutting, folding and cramming cardboard boxes into your existing baler? If you could reduce those hours by 90%, what could you do instead? Just because you have a baler, that doesn't mean you have the best baler for your needs! Compact and Bale understand waste, cardboard, balers, labour costs, return on investment and all things recycling! ✳️ We are experts in our 25th year of helping UK businesses, hospitals, shopping centres and local authorities to reduce disposal costs, sell waste cardboard for profit and most importantly, reduce labour and handling. ✳️ Our customer list reads like a veritable who's who of UK businesses! ✳️ Why is reducing labour and handling the most important part of what we do? ✳️ Because good baling labour is hard to find, expensive and double costly because while you're paying your staff to handle cardboard, they're not earning you any money! And that hurts again and again, hour after hour, week in week out, in perpetuity until you fix what's really wrong! ✳️ If you have this problem, the Strautmann Umwelttechnik GmbH JUMBOLOADBALER will fix it! Pairs of our Compact and Bale "Best Balers" keep popping up all over the place! These 2 were installed last week at a leading medical supplies company in Kent. They are renting one for cardboard and one for polythene. The first polythene bale took 25 of their huge pallet box size bags to make. That's more than the contents of a full 40 cubic yard skip, compacted into just one euro pallet sized bale! That's a bale that they will now sell rather than a skip that they have to pay for! Does your skip hold recyclable materials that you could sell rather than pay to have taken away? BALERS TURN RUBBISH INTO MONEY! As the weather forecast has heavy rain for much of the UK today, I decided to show you just how much water an Avermann Group Sebright Products, Inc. DRAM can remove from soaking wet, shredded plastic. In a single pass this remarkable machine reduces the weight of this material by over 60%, leaving it with under 15% moisture content, which is effectively, bone dry. This enables huge volumes of water to be reused and and the price per tonne to handle store and transport the dry product to be significantly reduced. There are hundreds of these machines all around the world dewatering waste for incineration, pulp and light rejects at paper mills, insulation and other fibreous materials carried by liquids in manufacturing and more. We even had an enquiry this week to separate waste cooking oil from filter paper. If your operation is paying to handle, transport or dispose of wet materials, why not see if we can help you save money, reduce handling and recover resources? Waste water has often been in the news lately with UK water co's being accused and fined for all sorts of dodgy practices! For private companies however, water and other liquids can be squeezed out of their waste to be recovered for reuse. Dewatering production waste, pulp, digestate, plastics, drinks bottles/cans/pouches and more brings significant cost savings while helping the environment. At Compact and Bale, we offer a range of specialist dewatering machines to suit your various and multiple needs! Take a look at this. What is it? This material is reactor Digestate taken from the bottom of a reactor at an Anaerobic Digestion plant. How is it disposed of? Landfill. Is it Expensive? Yes. So what's my point of this post? We along with Avermann Group Sebright Products, Inc. spent two days at a potential customers site testing materials and this was the highest moisture content material to test. Initial moisture before putting this material through the dewatering system was 95.42% and total weight 30.95kg. Post process, the moisture content was 32.48% and total weight 11.60kg. Meaning 19.35kg of liquids were removed. Total mass weight reduction of 62.52%. Imagine calculating the costs for landfill disposal and transport of this material per annum, reducing that by 62.52% just by removing the water and seeing the cost savings. This allowed us to provide proof to site that with installation of our machinery, they could reduce their lorry movements and disposal by 3 to 1 and not only that the water removed from the material could be diverted back into their plant to be used rather than dripping out of the lorry down the motorway. With the increase of landfill tax increasing by £26.00 per tonne next year and talks of the Landfill Water Tax Rebate being scrapped, now is the time to look at your process. Do you deal with this material and would like to know more? Casey@compactandbale.com #innovation #landfill #disposal #costsaving #recycling #AD

Our Flexus expert Casey Mcnutt shares his thoughts on why the flexus baler wrappers we at Compact and Bale offer are the world market leaders! #rdf #efw #energyfromwaste #wastetoenergy #waste

With a noticeable increase in desire to export waste out of the UK , the demand for Baler Wrappers has never been so high! Unlike most conventional baler wrappers the FLEXUS BALASYSTEM AB needs just one operative. The one loading the machine with material and then removing the bales at the end of the cycle. Have multiple sites but don't want to invest in multiple machines? The machine is the only mobile system on the market. Uplifted in hours, transported and set up on your next site in 3. The permit for your site doesn't allow for digging pits or groundworks? The Flexusbala requires zero groundworks and only needs a flat base. ✅️ The most energy-efficient baler wrapper worldwide (typically using 40% less energy than a square baler and cross wrapper) ✅️ Produces up to 35 x bales per hour ✅️ RDF bale weights up to 850kg ✅️ MSW bale weights up to 1600kg ✅️ Full trailer/container/ship payloads achieved ✅️ No bale wires and least net/film used ✅️ No building, civil works, steel frame or separate control panel required ✅️ 5 to 8 hours installation time ✅️ Fully mobile machine - set up in 3 hours ✅️ Fully automatic operation - no operator ✅️ Easy to maintain - lowest service costs ✅️ Long life - 1 million bales/20 years Does your company utilise Energy From Waste facilities? Has your company ever suffered from a shutdown of one of your EFW's or transfer stations? Resulting in having to turn 3rd party waste away or tipping your own lorries at another location costing you time, fuel and subsequently money? Ever suffered from a dreaded fire? Now imagine having a system that could be mobilised, on-site and set up within 3 hours dealing with up to 50 tonnes of waste per hour. Now imagine that system could also bale and wrap that material into bales weighing 1000-1600kg. Now imagine though bales could be stacked as high as humanly possible due to their shape and stored until your EFW/transfer station was back up and running. Did I mention the wrap is incinerable PE net and film? No wires and no ties. The flexus is designed to last for up to 1,000,000 bales. Oh and one final thing, if your outlet for exported waste prefers square bales over round, send them my way. I will personally put you in touch with one of the UK's largest exporters of waste who will take round bales with open arms. Our chairman Steve Burnett shared this post last Friday and it's had nearly 135,000 views since! It's a cracking post about our Compact and Bale balers from Strautmann Umwelttechnik GmbH in Germany. ✅️ "Because it's not about the price, it's about the value!" ✅️ As Steve often says, "we sell what we buy for our own rental fleet". Our balers are designed and built for a 50,000 operating (actually going up and down) life span. No other brand can match that! #recycling #baling #balers #wastemanagement #packaging

No one ever brings enough material....🤷 At Compact and Bale we regularly invite potential clients to bring "a couple of bales worth" of their recyclable materials and put them through one of our Strautmann Umwelttechnik GmbH vertical balers. 🔵 We extend this offer to businesses considering their first mill size vertical baler 🔵 We extend this offer to businesses considering replacing their existing vertical baler I always say to those coming: "Strautmann's PP1207 balers are really the very best designed and built machines on the market. They use 58 tonnes of pressure which is the highest of any machines I know and due to a number of unique and patented features, they make the best bales I have ever seen. So, however much loose material you think you'll need, double it and add half again for good measure." As you can see from how the AstroTurf bale in this video bounces as it is ejected, they never bring enough! #balers #recycling #waste #plastics #packaging #quality
