How do you successfully merge a privately owned family business into one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers, all while maintaining your reputation for exceptional taste, quality and customer service? If you were at the British Society of Baking (BSB) conference last week, then you’ll already know the answer! Helen Bowyer, our commercial director attended the conference and delivered a fantastic presentation, where she discussed how Wrights successfully adjusted to being acquired by The Compleat Food Group. Drawing on her 25 years of experience in the food industry Helen then took the audience on a journey through the bakery market, showing how the sector has shown remarkable resilience in the face of a number of challenges. She also discussed why bakery-led outlets are currently out-performing many other out-of-home channels, as people continue turning to bakery for value, comfort and above all, delicious treats. 🍩 It was a fantastic couple of days of insightful discussion and innovation within the bakery sector. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting with and hearing from other leaders in the industry, including senior representatives from HILL BISCUITS LIMITED, Babyfaced Baker, TWO MAGPIES BAKERY LIMITED, and Oterra. Our Commercial Director Helen Bowyer is attending and speaking at the British Society of Baking (BSB) conference this week! Helen will be speaking at the conference on Thursday 10th October to discuss the integration of Wrights into The Compleat Food Group, and how Wrights is now utilising the scale and expertise of being part of a bigger group to increase availability, distribution and product innovation. She will also take those attending on a journey through the bakery market, delving into its recent challenges including changing consumer demands, labour shortages and inflation, and how Wrights is responding to these hurdles in order to be continue to be relevant for generations to come. Yesterday, we headed to Manchester for the Harvey & Brockless Meet the Makers event✨ We met many of our new colleagues and joined over 40 artisanal producers in showcasing some of our best products on offer across The Compleat Food Group and available through Compleat Foodservice. This included olives, deli items, savoury pastry and sweet treats like our pastel de nata, as well as the very best from our brands including our Squeaky Bean Beechwood Smoked Salmon Style Slices and a selection of our tastiest pickles, ferments and sauces from Vadasz!🌶️ It was a fantastic day, where we were able to share our passion for delicious, high-quality food with our new Harvey & Brockless colleagues, and meet chefs and artisanal producers from across the foodservice industry. #CompleatFoodservice #FoodToFeelGood
