It’s Zero Waste Week, and people across the globe are committing to reduce landfill waste and preserve resources to help our planet. At Computacenter, we’re proud to play our part, too. Driving efficient material use and minimising landfill are part of our Sustainable Operations Strategy. For example, plastic bags at our Integration Centers are either reused or collected for dedicated plastics recycling. We closely monitor recycling performance for materials such as plastics, paper and cardboard, and send as little waste as possible to landfill. Our team in Hungary recently had the opportunity to demonstrate our extensive capabilities, impressive skill sets, and compelling future potential of our Budapest operation to some of our executive leaders over a series of summer visits. First to visit was Lieven Bergmans our Group Technology Sourcing Chief Commercial Officer, who spent time with his diverse and dynamic service excellence teams in Budapest. Following Lieven's productive visit the team welcomed Julie O'Hara Director of Group Managed Services. Julie expressed deep appreciation for the breadth of functions established in Hungary in recognition of the opportunities for business growth and enhanced customer satisfaction. Last to visit was Chief Financial Officer Chris Jehle who spent time at the Budapest-based Finance Shared Service Centre and experienced first-hand the exceptional customer service delivered by our people. Helping to keep Britain's famous Brighton Beach clean, one of our teams recently swapped their desks for a day on the pebbles undertaking a beach clean in support of the Marine Conservation Society 🌊 The day provided the perfect team building opportunity while also putting into action our winning together for our people and planet values. A staggering 57kgs of litter was gathered and removed by the team providing vital data. The survey data collected will contribute to the Marine Conservation Society's national campaign, working towards a cleaner, better protected, heathier coastline.
