Earlier this month we had the privilege of delivering a guest lecture at West Lothian College on Modular Construction. During the session, we outlined the key elements of our modern method of construction and the many benefits of building in this way. We also took the opportunity to provide students with more information on the 49-unit affordable housing development we are currently delivering for West Lothian Council, just a few yards from the college. Today, as the half-term holiday nears its end, Marketing Manager Lynsey Young brought son Findlay to work for a half-day shift. He quickly got to putting his creative skills to the test producing some fantastic new house designs for Design Manger, Andy Corrigan and Technical Manager, Gordon Seath. He then stepped out to conduct some quality checks in our factory, where he was impressed with the homes under construction for Ark People Housing Care and West Lothian Council. We are delighted to announce the addition of Kevin Mullen to the Connect Modular team as our new site manager, overseeing the development site at Gilmour Avenue, Clydebank. In this role, Kevin will lead the construction of two three-bedroom houses for social rent for client West Dunbartonshire Council. With his extensive experience in site management, Kevin brings invaluable knowledge to our team. This project will transform a long term gap site and align Connect Modular’s fast and efficient, modular construction process with council owned land to deliver rapid action in response to the housing emergency declared by West Dunbartonshire Council in May 2024. We recently visited Strathesk Primary School in Penicuik, a short walk from Windsor Square where we’re currently delivering 12 new affordable cottage flats for Ark People Housing Care. We engaged with six classes, ranging from P1 to P7, discussing modular construction and presenting a fun challenge: to build structures using a range of materials such as spaghetti, marshmallows, building blocks, and magna tiles. The level of creativity displayed by the students was impressive and they all thoroughly enjoyed the activities. In addition, we provided offcut materials from our manufacturing facility to support the school’s STEM classroom activities. New Project Announcement! Connect Modular and Fyne Homes are delighted to announce proposals for the development of eight new, affordable homes in Rothesay, the Victorian seaside resort and main town on the Isle of Bute. This project marks a significant milestone in addressing the demand for affordable, family housing on the island.
