This week saw the groundbreaking ceremony at Windsor Square, Penicuik, marking construction commencement of 12 modern energy-efficient cottage flats to be made available for social rent. Jennifer Higgins, CEO at Connect Modular, said, "We’re delighted to be working with Ark People Housing Care to deliver these 12 cottage flats using our volumetric modern method of construction. Modular construction not only elevates build quality but also expedites the availability of homes for occupancy and overcomes challenging logistical brownfield sites like Windsor Square. This week we welcomed MSP Willie Coffey to our manufacturing facility, where he gained invaluable insights into the world of modular construction. During his visit, Willie had the opportunity to witness firsthand the construction of the 12 cottage flats for Ark People Housing Care and the ongoing work on the 49 units for West Lothian Council, in collaboration with Hub South East Scotland Limited. Game On! This Friday we are hosting a charity games day for our team to raise money for the Multiple System Atrophy Trust. The staff of Connect Modular and The Wee House Company will go head-to-head in various challenges and activities including pool, darts, dominoes and cards. The MSA Trust charity was chosen in honour of the Wee House Group’s former colleague, Kenneth Clarke who was diagnosed in 2021 with the rare neurological disorder, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and passed away in June of this year. Additionally, our Afton Court development, completed for North Ayrshire Council, has been shortlisted in the "Best Regeneration" category. Penicuik Preview! Our latest affordable housing development for Ark Housing Association is progressing well, with construction underway in our factory and onsite at Windsor Square, Penicuik. This project will deliver a total of 12 modern, energy efficient cottage flats, including two one-bedroom and ten two-bedroom units.
