For this project, we were tasked to produce and carry out a temporary works scheme for Modebest, for the construction of 332 new homes, restaurants, retail outlets and more. This meant overcoming the two significant challenges: 1. Site location > a tight, mid-city site with limited access 2. Load monitoring > measuring load limits for the restrictive site Having all our teams in-house was crucial in overcoming these challenges. All propping equipment was supplied on flat-bed vehicles through our FORS Gold Transport service, ensuring on-time deliveries aligned with the customer build schedule. Our remote load monitoring system allowed our in-house teams and customers to record 24/7 data, enabling structural engineers to view real-time readings of prop loadings and determine when each level of props could be safely removed. Design and delivery of the Thames Tideway project was a uniquely complex engineering challenge for all involved. We were tasked with designing and supplying the temporary works for the excavation and construction of the culvers connection to the main inlet shaft… Being involved at an early stage allowed our team to work closely with our customers to ensure we: ✅fully understood all the design and challenges the construction teams would face ✅worked out the many implications that were apparent with the logistics and operations ✅learnt how the project needed to progress and the impact that had on the design sequencing ✅identified the high retention loads and complex structure shapes impacting the scheme design Through discovery sessions with the client, we collaborated to identify and quickly overcome all the key challenges throughout our time on this complex project.
