Code for Construction Product Information reposted this
A really insightful Builders Merchants Federation Ltd Insulation and Dry Lining Forum held last week in Coventry, expertly chaired by Michael Beard of Encon & Nevill Long and supported by David Dealtry. With policy and market updates provided by Brett Amphlett and Thomas Lowe to set the tone, several significant themes were highlighted by Richard Bowes from Knauf within the Drywall and Plasterboard market update, covering the headwinds being experienced with skills shortages, progress on net zero roadmap and the drive to support the Building Safety Act (BSA) and obtain Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) compliance. This included sharing Knauf's journey so far on CCPI accreditation, and the importance of competency and the best practice competency mapping journey that Knauf have been on with their team. Similarly, Neville White highlighted Encon & Nevill Long's approach to passive fire protection within Builders Merchants, and the impact of the Building Safety Act (BSA) on the role of merchants. Both comprehensive and practical, it highlighted the need for awareness and understanding from merchants of how they interact with customers regarding product requirements, and the impact on the construction gateway process. Opportunities for merchants to support their customers with new bathroom tanking product innovation was set out by Martin Mallon MBA CMgr MCMI of CT1 - The Snag List Eliminator, with the striking efficiency opportunities it would prevent over alternate solutions being demonstrated for installers. Thanks to all those who presented and attended and shared their experiences on best practice along with their views and valuable insight to help both merchants and suppliers to grow inspite of the market conditions. Well worth attending to further develop your business if you haven't attended before. #BuildersMerchants, #Insulation, #Drylining, #BuildingSafetyAct, #BurningWisdom
