💜 International Women’s Day! 💚 For #IWD we have been celebrating the incredible women in our business ⬇️ Jenny Williams joined us just over a month ago as our Head of Learning and Development! She brings a wealth of knowledge and has already made a huge impact. Here’s to exciting plans and getting things done! ⭐️ 🏆 Can you share a significant achievement or moment from your professional journey? My biggest achievement was being nominated for an MBE! I was working at Bourne when Covid happened and got furloughed. On the day, a good friend of mine who runs over 100 care homes called me upset about all their PPE being diverted to the NHS. She was worried about her teams and patients. I wanted to help, so I set up a group on Facebook to raise awareness and ask for help! I was astounded by the amount people who reached out - pinni’s and gloves from closed hairdressers, face masks from local suppliers, hand-wash from a GIN company, Harpenden bombers knitting ear savers and universities printing 3D masks! After establishing people on bikes could still travel if they had PPE onboard I reached out and managed to persuade a motorbike company to help transport the goods! We had deliveries sent all over the country and the great news is that none of her team or patients died of Covid (not just down to the PPE but the hard work and dedication of her teams!). Also, after I was taken off furlough to write Covid safe training to 40k+ teams in Butlins, Warner and Haven, the company nominated me for an MBE! Sadly, I didn't get it but I did get a Lord Chamberlain award for services to the Community and invited to the Queens Garden Party (photo attached with my Mum). 🧠 In honour of International Women's Day, could you highlight a woman who has inspired you personally and professionally? It sounds corny but my Mum is my inspiration. She has dealt with a lot of bad things in her life and bought up her own three children on limited money. Not only that she created a refuge for others in need of a safe place to stay. In total I think my mum is directly responsible for raising or helping at least 20 children (plus a few adults that needed her). She is always positive and still helps me out. That is why if anyone deserved to go to the Queens house, it was her. Over the years I have been inspired by many women, those who have drive and passion yet still are empathetic and care about those who they look after. It is tough being a woman in business, but I respect those who don’t feel to rise to the top you have to demonstrate the worst qualities of a man. It’s ok to be humble, have children and set personal boundaries. 🪜 What advice would you give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps? I think be honest with yourself. Embrace your qualities and what makes you special. Don’t let work take over who you are, speak up when it gets too much. Don’t think your weakness is that you are a woman. Ultimately don’t lose who you are to fit in with others.

💜💚 With #IWD just around the corner we wanted to celebrate the incredible women in our business ⬇️ After eleven amazing years in Strada Restaurants, Katarina Janosikova embarked on a new challenge as General Manager in our Tower Bridge site! Almost one year later, she was awarded ‘General Manager of the year’ at our annual awards ceremony for exceeding our wildest expectation! Thank you for everything - you’re amazing! ⭐️ 🏆 Can you share a significant achievement or moment from your professional journey? When I took over Strada Southbank 2020, as it was my professional dream to get that site, it was a challenging time, as it was during the very uncertain time of COVID, but I loved every moment. 🧠 In honour of International Women's Day, could you highlight a woman who has inspired you personally and professionally? Sara, my previous Operations Manager, was there all along my journey at Strada and she pushed me to take this opportunity at Coppa! She is very supportive and praises the staff around her, giving you the courage to believe that you can do anything if you put hard work into it. She is a leader with a clear vision and knows how to execute the vision. I need to say that our Support Office is full of incredible women in every department and I admire them all! 🪜 What advice would you give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps? “If you believe in yourself anything is possible, put work into it and you will achieve what your heart desires" on your journey you will find someone that will be your inspiration and leadership model. Sophie you are one of a kind and a complete superstar - thank you for everything! ⭐️ 🏆 Can you share a significant achievement or moment from your professional journey? One of my best achievements during my professional journey, was when I got the opportunity to become a manager, which gave me the passion and thrill to grow my knowledge and spread the passion towards hospitality.   🧠 In honour of International Women's Day, could you highlight a woman who has inspired you personally and professionally? Her name is Sonia, she was my inspiration and until today, I am very thankful to her. Honestly, I could write a book about how she inspired me. She was my general manager at the airport. She taught me everything I know, how to teach people, how to thrive people, how to do things, how to achieve goals and work towards them. We laughed, we cried, we pushed each other, we achieved goals together. She taught me that hard work pays off, she improved me as a human being, and also professionally. I'm glad she exists, she is a leader and she taught me to thrive. 🪜 What advice would you give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps? Do what makes you happy. Follow yours dream, work harder than everyone else, because in the end of the day you are your future. If people tell you that you can't achieve it, prove them wrong. Coppa Club Various Eateries PLC
