This research highlights how the BalanceBot™ can significantly enhance intra-operative joint balance in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). In a study of 280 patients, using the BalanceBot to plan implant placement with predictive gap planning led to higher rates of joint balance across flexion compared to robotic surgeries that did not use predictive gap planning with the BalanceBot. Balanced knees saw improved patient-reported outcomes, including KOOS scores, while limiting medial and lateral flexion laxity was associated with greater success in achieving the Patient Acceptable Symptom State for pain. Reflecting on one year since Corin first announced Apollo™, our next-generation robotic-assisted surgical platform, and ApolloKnee™ software application – what a remarkable year it has been! ApolloKnee has obtained FDA 510(k) clearance, CE marking, TGA registration, and it has been fully integrated into numerous hospitals and ASCs. With over 500 surgeries and counting, ApolloKnee remains the only system capable of delivering a pre-resection robotic assessment of knee balance through the full range of motion. We look forward to another year of orthopaedic innovation and answering the question... What will Apollo do next? Thank you to the Corin team and our surgeon partners who made this possible! Dr. Michael Bradley leverages the Apollo™ robotic system and facility metrics to optimize efficiency in his ASC. Apollo data is automatically collected within CorinConnect™, a cloud-based surgeon portal, where it can be analyzed to provide insights based on key metrics. Dr. Bradley’s robotic case times are displayed here with a median of 13.7 minutes per case. His workflow includes an initial balance assessment using the BalanceBot™, followed by femoral cut execution with the Apollo Robot. Learn more about how Dr. Bradley, CEO of Ortho Rhode Island, is optimizing efficiency in his ASC with ApolloKnee™ by attending our symposium, "Robotic Pre-Resection Balancing in TKA – Plan. Implement. Learn." on Thursday, November 7th at 3 PM in Dallas. Learn more about Apollo™: www.coringroup.com/apollo #CorinConnect #Orthopedics #HealthcareInnovation #Orthopaedics #OrthopedicSurgery #MedicalTechnology Note: Robotic time is measured from hip center calculation through to the final balance assessment. This excludes exposure, pin placement, and implantation times.
