❄️ Community Engagement in Cromer 🏡 On a chilly January evening last week, Corylus was pleased to welcome over 150 people to a public consultation event in Cromer. The consultation focused on an outline application for a site identified as a draft allocation in the emerging North Norfolk Local Plan. The proposal includes up to 550 dwellings, elderly accommodation, sports pitch provision, open spaces, and associated infrastructure, with all matters reserved except access. It was great to see so many members of the local community attend and engage in constructive conversations. Unearthing History and Ecological Benefits 🦖🌿 Corylus’s background in minerals development has enabled us to be involved in some truly landscape scale quarry schemes, that have provided huge ecological benefits to the local environment. Sometimes quarrying unearths something exceptional, including fascinating archaeological and paleontological remains. These dinosaur footprints were found within our clients quarry, and we were lucky enough to get a tour last summer. Such is the excitement over the find, Natural England has made the remains subject to the first ever Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) to be designated specifically for its nationally important geological features. Corylus is thrilled to have secured planning consent for the 27.8MW Elms Farm solar farm, now under construction and set to energise later this year. Once operational, the project will generate 29,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, helping Anglian Water achieve its ambitious Net Zero Carbon target by 2030. This project, developed by Innova and Schroders Greencoat, is backed by a 15-year Corporate PPA with Anglian Water, ensuring a traceable and reliable renewable energy supply.
