Crane Electronics stationary transducers are available with the option to have a light ring built into the unit. This is the perfect option for a tool testing station with multiple transducers included. When a transducer has been selected to test a tool, the light ring will illuminate, showing the user which transducer they need to use to test the tool. This helps to avoid any damage being done to the tool or transducer. We’ve previously explored what a ‘soft joint’ is. Now it’s time to explore ‘hard’ joints and their applications. Hard joints, typically used in assemblies with strong materials like steel and aluminium (e.g. metal to metal contact), provide a high level of precision. The rigid metals offer a level of resistance, allowing the fastener to secure the joint to the correct torque with minimal rotation, ensuring precise and accurate results. Find out more about where they are used in industry and how they work in our latest blog post at https://bit.ly/3Z1ZiYp #torque #fasteners #assembly #qualitycontrol #manufacturing

Did you know that the TorqueStar Pro can not only store results in its internal memory, but it can also export them to a USB stick and a PC. By exporting results, they can be stored and analysed in Crane’s OMS and OMS Lite torque management software packages. The AutoPrint option is also available, which exports a reading to an external output immediately. This can be paired with Crane’s Readings Capture software to create a graph of results in real time.  For more information on these products and more, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/euJ3UR_e #didyouknow #torquestar #datacollector #torquemanagement

Ever wondered why ensuring the correct torque levels is so crucial in assembly applications? Using too little torque can cause fasteners to come loose, leading to potential catastrophic failures, while over-torquing can damage fasteners and weaken the assembly or structure. That's where soft torque joints come in! These specially designed joints offer flexibility and adaptability, making them perfect for dealing with shocks, vibrations and other dynamic loads. Want to learn more about how they work and where to use them? Check out our latest blog post at https://bit.ly/46Iy5eO #torque #fasteners #assembly #qualitycontrol #manufacturing

What is torque relaxation and why can it cause complications when measuring torque on a fastener? Torque relaxation occurs in fastened components and joints when the fastener 'embeds' itself in the surface of a part or into softer materials such as gaskets. Depending on the complexity of the material or application, joints can then take time to settle after the tightening is completed. This process can sometimes mean that parts may not be correctly fastened to the intended torque specification and the required clamp-load to secure the assembly properly is not met. Read more about this issue and how it can be compensated for in our latest blog article at https://bit.ly/3LPqbXr #torquetools #torque #assembly #qualitycontrol #fasteners

Load cell transducers are crucial components in many industrial weighing systems on processes. Load cells measure weight in the form of directional force using a mix of spring elements and strain gauges to convert the weight measurement into an electrical output. Our Pancake and S Beam ranges of load cells are both suitable for use in both tension and compression and are suitable for a variety of applications including low-range monitoring, control, test and measurement applications. Both types of load cells are robust and durable to meet the demands of their environments. Our Donut range of load cells features a compact, smooth through-hole design for use in applications which require the load structure to pass through the cell. The load cells offer high accuracy measurement and our standard models can also be customised to meet your specific application. Recognised as the force in torque management, Crane Electronics are the trusted provider of load cells for many leading manufacturers across the automotive, aerospace, marine, construction, railway and process industries.
