The silent threat to success? Ignoring diversity of thought. A blog post from our UK CEO Heather Blundell. Appreciating different points of view – to truly understand diverse perspectives and the lived experience of others – should not simply be a desirable objective for a PR or comms agency. On the contrary, it is essential if we are to helping clients engage effectively and meaningfully with target audiences. Building campaigns that truly resonates with target audiences relies on drawing from diverse lived experiences within our teams. Whether it’s dating app users, football fans, electric car drivers or families living on a tight budget, success lies in building a team that is in tune with the target market – a team that can draw upon the experiences of its members to hone the message and craft honest, compelling and impactful campaigns. It is important, then, that diversity of thought is not sidelined or treated as an HR box to be ticked – rather, embedding a spectrum of perspectives and world views into our daily work should be embraced as critical to success. Grateful to our partners for supporting us deliver against our diversity and inclusion goals so that we can deliver the best and most impactful work for clients.
