Its the start of the awards cycle for a campaign everyone at Ready10 is really proud of - The Meal, which saw McDonald's remove the smile from Happy Meals on Mental Health Awareness Week. To win three trophies last night at the Creative Moment awards, including Creative Stunt of the Year and Creative Earned Media Campaign of the Year vindicates our approach that ideas can - MUST - come from everywhere. In this instance, my then 13-year-old (who remains totally unbothered and unimpressed about her impact). 18 months ago she raised a thought over dinner about Happy Meals and that you can't always be happy all the time, which sparked even more thoughts...fast forward to May 2024 and McDonald's removed the smile from the Happy Meal box during Mental Health Awareness Week with 2.5 million boxes going into stores, in a partnership with Children in Need. It's a piece of work everyone in the agency and client team is immensley proud of.
