#pancakeday was a hit this week with our young people at COV Youth. Nothing better than good food, good vibes, tunes and fun people. Our young people also started their arts awards this week after weeks of consultations. We are looking forward to inviting @coventrymusic and DJ Callum (a previous attendee returning as a pro) to support our Youthmusic sessions. #youth #community #grassroots #socent

About us
We are a Community Interest Company passionate about Protective Behaviours. Protective Behaviours is a practical down to earth approach on feeling safe consisting of 2 Themes 'we all have the right to feel safe all the time’ and ‘we can talk with someone about anything even if it is awful or small'. Protective behaviours is a process that has been practiced since the 1970's. We have used the core principles to guide our everyday practice ensuring that our beneficiaries are equipped with a skillset to keep themselves feeling safe to encourage progression, prevent and or reduce victimisation and abuse. We want to educate, support and enable individuals to make informed decisions throughout life based on the principles that we all have the right to feel safe and we can talk with someone about anything even if it is awful or small. We provide alternative education, wellbeing services, one to one support, consultancy and accredited training with professionals as well as supporting our local community by providing universal youth provision. All staff are fully trained protective behaviours practitioners and undergo regular CPD and supervision to provide consistency and quality to our partners, clients, and beneficiaries. We aim to be well grounded and keep it real. What we do is practical. The difference we make is in real life. We speak out to be heard and inspire confidence, and like our name, we believe we can only change things if we’re imaginative and positive, working for brighter futures.

Shelby just waiting patiently for our new learners to arrive this week. We had our centre all set up and ready with all things to enable someone to feel safe in their learning environment. Five young people staring our personal development course, all of whom have high levels of anxiety to many complex reasons. It’s wonderful to say that they all had a wonderful first day, to arrive the following day an hour early! Eager to learn more .. oh… and some showed up in their PJ’s. Our fluffy socks, blankets and bean bags encouraged them to take their sense of comfort to a next level. A positive start to say the least…. #connection #education #therapydogintraining #protectivebehaviours #feelingsafe

Creative Optimistic Visions has been cooking up something special with a few added ingredients from our #girlcode #fireintheyouth projects and Nikki Holmes work on #timetotalk ending violence against women and girls. To enhance the offer of Fire in the Youth, we are piloting Girls on Fire. We have identified a growing need and desire to educate and increase the self esteem and confidence of young women and girls with a creative, musical element. We aim to increase the attendance of female artists on Fire in the Youth and the music scene in #coventry. So if you know any young women that have that sweet female attitude, is passionate about music and ending violence against women and girls, please share this project with them. Our very own female artist @feistylikeme will be supporting the delivery. 🔥 #vawg #socent #grassroots #youthandcommunity
