Today, we have announced our Full Year 2024 results. Steve Foots, CEO, shares: “2024 was another transitional year, following two years of unprecedented demand in 2021 and 2022, with an industry-wide reset from 2023. “Consumer Care saw progress in all areas, with another standout performance from Fragrances & Flavours and good growth of New & Protected Products. Life Sciences was impacted by the absence of Covid-19 lipids and weak sales into consumer health markets, but better demand in Crop Protection drove an improved performance in the second half year. “Whilst sales growth was lower than we hoped in a subdued demand environment, proactive actions to rebase costs and drive efficiencies enabled us to deliver profits in line with our guidance.” We take this opportunity to thank our people for their dedication and resilience, your hard work and commitment are what continue to drive Croda forward. Since its acquisition by Croda in 1955, our global headquarters at Cowick Hall has undergone considerable sympathetic remodelling to meet the company’s evolving needs. Sarah Saxelby, Estates and Facilities Director, explains how the Hall’s interior was redesigned over the years to create office space while preserving the building’s important national heritage. “The outbuildings surrounding our Head Office, like The Dower House and The Stables, were repurposed into offices and later laboratories as the company grew. With the acquisition of Uniqema, and further expansion, it became clear that a major redevelopment was required to accommodate additional staff and modernise the site. In the late 2000s, work began on transforming these spaces into a new Innovation and Training Centre. The project was carefully managed under archaeological monitoring due to the site’s historic significance. During excavations, a 14th–15th century brick-lined well was uncovered, along with late medieval Humberware pottery fragments, possibly from the Cowick kilns. These discoveries highlighted the deep historical roots of the site as Croda continued to develop the site for the future.” The redevelopment of Cowick Hall marked a pivotal moment in Croda's journey, laying the foundation for the next chapter of growth and innovation. #Croda100 #Innovation #History #Sustainability #Growth

In 2008, Croda took a major step in its corporate responsibility journey, publishing our first sustainability report. This report highlighted our commitment to becoming Climate, Land, and People Positive, reinforcing our goal to be the most sustainable supplier of innovative ingredients. A standout sustainability project was the installation of a wind turbine at our Hull site. Operational by November 2008, it cut the site’s reliance on imported electricity by 40%, despite facing numerous challenges, including local wildlife protection and community concerns. By the end of the decade, Croda had expanded globally, with offices in 36 countries and 19 state-of-the-art factories. We had reshaped our business to focus on the market sectors where we could add the most value, all while transitioning Uniqema products to new markets under the Croda brand. Today we are a truly global business with less than 7% of sales from the UK, reflecting our worldwide reach while maintaining our customer-focused business model which prioritises quality over volume. #Croda100 #Sustainability #Innovation #GlobalBusiness

This week (10–16 Feb) marks National Apprenticeship Week in the UK, and at Croda, we’re celebrating our talented apprentices! Across our sites in England, we have 28 apprentices working in Manufacturing, IT, Technical, and Commercial roles. These colleagues are not only gaining valuable qualifications and accreditations but also making meaningful contributions to our business every day. Our apprentices are supported by fantastic line managers who guide their development, both in training and in their day-to-day roles. Not all those on apprentice training are new starters at Croda. Many of our employees are upskilling through apprenticeship programs, helping them grow and shape their future careers. Anna Middleton, Group Sustainability Specialist, tells us about her experience as an apprentice at Croda: “My apprenticeship has enhanced my understanding of the global macro influences within sustainability. It has allowed me to grasp the broader environment in which I operate. “Working in sustainability requires the ability to translate risks from social and environmental issues into a business context and my apprenticeship has equipped me with the skills to do this more effectively. Additionally, the networking opportunities on my course have been fantastic, providing valuable insights into different industries, contexts, and perspectives!” Let’s take a moment to celebrate our apprentices and their dedication to learning and development. #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
