We will be carrying out our usual Act of Remembrance on Monday 11 November at 11am. A bell will be rung followed by two minutes of silence. Crofton students always do an excellent job of this. I know how much this means to so many of you, especially those with connections to the armed forces. Students are welcome to attend in uniform on Monday 11 November (Cadets, Scouts, Guides etc). Poppies will be on sale this week. I hope as many of our students as possible will be able to buy one and wear it with pride. I will also be leading assemblies next week on the theme of Remembrance. Thank you for your support with this important event. Mr Harrison Headteacher

We are delighted to be participating in Positive Noticing Day this year on Wednesday 13 November 2024. We will be spending some time during the day thinking about the power of positive noticing. It is simple, practical, and highly effective. Being positively noticed by others builds self-esteem, supports behaviour and promotes good mental health. We will be encouraging pupils (and staff!) to positively notice one another. We encourage families to join in at home too. You can write positive notes for family members on luggage labels, post it notes or pieces of paper. We know that children who are positively noticed by their parents/carers are happier, healthier and more resilient and secure. You can find out more about positive noticing and Positive Noticing Day at https://lnkd.in/dfjNgKen

Year 8 Students will be selling Poppies during am breaktime and pm registration, between now and 11th November. There is no set cost for a Poppy but the Poppy Foundation do ask for a contribution towards supporting and promoting the welfare of Veterans and their families. Please remember to have a small amount of money ready to buy and wear a Poppy. We look forward to seeing our students wearing them proudly.

2024 Design a Christmas Card Competition Each year we send a school Christmas Card out to people with links to the school, which is designed by Crofton students. • All entries must have the student’s name and tutor group written on the back. • Entries can be any form of art work (including photographs) but must be clear (so that they can be easily reproduced) and Christmassy (obviously!) Good luck!
