As we enter the new financial year the investments team at Sport Wales will be gearing up to open up a range of new funds. From the reopening of our community Be Active Wales Fund, supported thanks to #NationalLottery, through to our Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government backed capital schemes, including the hugely impactful Energy Savings Grant. All the while, whilst some of these funds have been on pause due to the financial end of year process, in the background, the A Place for Sport with Crowdfunder UK has been continuing to create brilliant local success stories. It’s one of my favourite things we do at Sport Wales. It isn’t about the money, but about the behaviour change and culture of engagement. Examples like this of Bala Golf Club, exceeding their targets by working with local business and the community, are exactly why we set it up. Excited to see where we can continue to grow this approach.
