Paul Hamlyn Foundation's Teacher Development Fund is now open for applications, offering a unique opportunity for arts organisations to: - Partner with primary schools to support teachers to gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to bring their lessons to life through the arts. - Engage in a two-year collaboration where artists and teachers work as co-learners and explore how the arts can help pupils overcome barriers to learning. Our music, our films, our games, our fashion, our literature – what we produce is known and loved in every corner of the globe. The creative industries are essential for our economic growth, generating £125 billion a year and employing 2.4 million people. Today the 68th British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival kicks off - an opportunity for us to celebrate our incredible film industry. And today we’re backing them with tax reliefs to create more indie films right here in the UK. Independent film productions with a budget up to £15 million will benefit from an increased tax relief of 53%. Film and the creative industries are a key part of my government’s mission to grow the economy in all parts of the UK and we will continue to ensure they have what they need to flourish.

Great to be at Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds today with arts and heritage professionals from across the North of England, for our course I'm A Teenager, Get Me Into There. We're thinking about how just a few small adjustments to our public spaces can result in young people feeling welcome and valued.
