    Just in from the ONS: Manufacturing and public sector salaries on the rise. The latest salary release highlights again that pay growth has slowed, however earnings continue to rise faster than inflation. Manufacturing is leading the pack with the highest pay growth for two quarters in a row. And the public sector salary growth is outpacing the private sector for the 7th consecutive quarter. (Though the NHS and civil service bump are due to last summer's one-time payments.) 💲 How important are salaries when attracting talent into the private or publics sectors?     ❗ Survey just in: more candidates say they’d prefer a job in the public sector than the private sector.    Is the labour market at a turning point?   Can public sector take advantage?   Should private sector be worried?    We're seeing some interesting dynamics which could shape a change in what candidates want 👀    On the one hand, recession-weary job seekers and employees are looking for job security and access to flexible working. The Labour Government is pushing for greater worker protections, and the public sector is leaning into this to attract the best talent.    On the other hand, the traditionally higher paid private sector continues to be cautious in the face of continued geopolitical and economic uncertainty, keeping a lid on hiring. All the while, high profile layoffs and return-to-the office mandates continue to cause controversy.    The power balance is shifting. Worker demands are changing.
