CASE LAW - JUNCTIONS 🚴🏻♀️ Watch out when traversing #junctions, especially complex ones. Always be on the look out for other road users even if you have right of way. This cyclist was badly injured and whilst the Judge viewed the van driver to be primarily (60%) responsible for the collision, he also believed the cyclist (40%) should have been more wary when crossing the junction. https://lnkd.in/ehWBrHaH

Next week is MAJOR TRAUMA AWARENESS WEEK (16th -22nd Sept) 🎺 As vulnerable road users, 🚴🏻♀️ cyclists can potentially suffer life-changing injuries if involved in a collision with a vehicle.🚗 With the NHS broken but not beaten, there is limited access to NHS rehabilitation for those suffering physical and psychological trauma. Where a cyclist's injuries are caused by another’s negligence in a road traffic collision, then a personal injury lawyer will often work closely the with motor insurer defending the claim to ensure the injured party has access to rehabilitation services. We'll be sharing some success stories during Major Trauma Awareness Week (16-22nd Sept) and shine a light on the issues. We must all recognise the urgent need for greater support for trauma survivors, from the moment they are injured through their entire recovery journey.

🚲 Common Cycling Incidents 🚲 #6 'ROUNDABOUTS' Roundabouts present a considerable hazard to cyclists. As well as the risk provided by road defects on and around roundabouts – including diesel spills and pot holes – there’s the added hazard of drivers not seeing cyclists, and also of drivers who are in the wrong lane as they approach or exit the roundabout. Tragically, cyclists often fall victim to 'hit and run' accidents. The injured cyclist can still seek compensation even though the offending motorist is never traced.
