The first of our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Days were a huge success! Our team came together to cover important topics, including Working at Heights, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Bullying and Harassment, Quality Standards, and Safe Driving. These sessions are not only about safety and growth but also give us a chance to discuss company updates and share our goals for the future. At the end of September a group of Darke & Taylor Site and Office staff took on the legendary Brecon Horseshoe route (and much more), in total they hiked 25 Miles in 9 and a half hours! This is an extremely challenging hike that led them into the heart of the Brecon Beacons. The challenge was completed in aid of Sobell House, with all participants donated half a day of their pay. Last week, we hosted our annual Site Supervisors Meeting, where we covered key topics including Health & Safety, Project Pipeline, Managing and Developing Apprentices, Quality Standards and Procurement. A big thanks to the three supervisors who presented case studies on their current projects, helping us learn from each other's challenges and successes. We also had the pleasure of presenting long service awards to: Colin Bark (40 years), Darren Barber (25 years) and Daniel Wright (25 years). Many of you have worked with these dedicated individuals, and we are proud to thank them for their commitment and hard work over the years. Darke & Taylor are proud to have completed the electrical design and installation for the new Pre-Prep Building at Haberdashers’ Boys’ School. The project was carefully designed to blend into the surrounding landscape and preserve the views of the nearby Grade II* listed building. Darke & Taylor are happy to welcome DoodleOx to our office. It has been wonderful to watch our very own DoodleOx go from being a blank piece of canvas to becoming a beautiful piece of artwork. D&T have enjoyed being a sponsor for the OxTrail 2024, for Sobell House. Through the auction of the Oxen, £150,000 has been raised for the hospice. D&T would also like to thank Amrit Singh for designing and painting Doodle Ox. It has been a pleasure to be involved in the OxTrail and it has been a great event for the community.
