The conference theme, “Twin Transitions in Data and Policy for a Sustainable and Inclusive Future”, centres on the dual role of digital and green transitions in addressing urgent global challenges. 🌍💡 At the conference, we will explore how the convergence of digital innovation and sustainability can help tackle pressing issues like climate change, social inequality, and economic resilience. Through this lens, the conference will dive into the policy shifts and data-driven strategies needed for a greener, more inclusive world. 🌍 ✨ Call for Special Track Proposals: We invite proposals for Special Tracks in two categories: 📊 Research/Policy/Practitioner Tracks: These tracks should address how digital and green initiatives work together to overcome global challenges. 💡 NEW BLOG: Digital Onboarding Systems, Identity Introducers, and Data Legal-Policy Dilemmas in Contexts of International Refuge, Statelessness, Nomadism, and Internal Displacement Riccardo VECELLIO SEGATE (University of Groningen) writes for the Data & Policy blog (Cambridge University Press & Assessment) on the role 'introducers' can play in the remote onboarding of individuals onto digital identity systems, looking at cases of “borderline citizenship” such as asylum seeking, statelessness, nomadism, and internal displacement. He concludes that interdisciplinary expertise is needed for human-rights-compliant-by-design identity systems, and to regulate the function and profile of introducers. Dr. Bartolomucci specializes in social impact data, social impact measurement, and innovation in the social economy. His research focuses on how cross-sectoral partnerships, innovation ecosystems, and data can drive social value. As co-chair of the European Commission’s Special Group on the Code of Conduct for Data Sharing and Use in the Social Economy, and a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he has a wealth of experience at the intersection of data, policy, and social impact. His research, "FintechforGood: unveiling social value creation in the fintech sector" received the 2022 Best Research Award from the European Microcredit Network. Federico will play a key role in advancing our Translational Articles category, which focuses on the integration of research and practice across diverse domains.
