🎄 This Christmas, instead of doing Secret Santa and exchanging gifts between ourselves, we have been collecting toys and gifts for local children and teenagers that would otherwise not be receiving any presents. Local organisations, Home-Start Erewash and the Arena Church in Ilkeston will be making sure these gifts go to those that need them most. We're delighted to be able to contribute to the local community and help spread some joy this Christmas. 🎄

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #lestweforget

🌍Today is World Menopause Day ♀ It is crucial to raise awareness about menopause at work; It’s estimated that of the 33m people employed in the UK, nearly 6m of those are experiencing menopause. Menopause can have a huge impact on women's lives: 3 in 4 experience symptoms and 70% experience stress as a result. For many women, they are often at the peak of their professional careers, yet 14% go part time and 10% actually leave work. Together, we can help break the stigma and encourage open conversations to ensure that women feel valued and supported throughout this natural life stage. #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseAwareness #BreakTheSilence #HealthyMidlife #MenopauseSupport #WMD2024

💚Today is World Mental Health Day💚 This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Work can have a huge impact on our mental health. It can be good for our mental health, giving us a sense of purpose, boosting our self-worth, and providing opportunities to connect with others. But it can also be a source of stress and anxiety and contribute to developing or worsening mental health problems. If you’re having a hard day, or you’re feeling off, let people know. Nobody can work at 100% capacity every day, and it’s about time we normalised it. Almost half (45%) of workers in construction and engineering take time off due to poor mental wellbeing. But around 30% report taking annual leave to avoid any questions or embarrassment, showing how stigma is particularly prevalent in this industry. Here at DBS Processing, claudia Piper-Garcia tech IOSH has recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider. She has gained the knowledge, awareness, and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health, and can signpost a person to appropriate support. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So today (and every day) why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues to see how they're feeling? #WMHD2024 Mental Health Foundation MHFA England®
