BA Dinner 🍗 Last week, our Business Analysts enjoyed dinner together. It was a great opportunity for everyone, especially our new starters, to connect, share their experiences, and learn more about each other. Since August, we have had five new Business Analysts join the team. As we grow, we want to ensure that we keep building strong relationships across the company. This is crucial to maintaining our supportive and collaborative culture, which is a key part of Deecon’s DNA. Deecon #wearitpink to support Breast Cancer Awareness🎗️✨ In the UK, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes (source: Breast Cancer Now). Therefore, it is vital that we stay informed about the signs, symptoms and causes of breast cancer. It is also important that we keep fundraising for future research. At Deecon we organised a variety of activities including a quiz and bingo game to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, while also challenging our team to wear it pink. The combination of interactive activities and education has helped our team learn more about breast cancer and what we can do to support. For further information, please see https://lnkd.in/giB49wy and check out the Deecon team in pink below. #breastcancerawareness #wearitpink2024 #charitysupport #deeconconsulting #consulting

🌍 Our Senior Manager, Karl Reilly attended the 10th Annual AIPMO - Association of International Project Management Officers conference in Warsaw. With 50 attendees, from CEOs to Program Directors, the event offered a great mix of perspectives that sparked valuable conversations. The event was hosted by Maciej Bodych, MBA, PMP, PfMP, ACP, PMO-CC, and Joanna Bodych from WHITECOM Project Experience. Leveraging many years of experience working with PMO and PPM frameworks in the Construction industry, Karl engaged in insightful discussions with masterclass facilitators Dr. Robert Joslin, Nancy Nouaimeh from AIPMO. The highlight? Exploring the Base-level Maturity Assessment tool and its potential for future projects. We look forward to Karl bringing many of the learnings back to the team! If you are interested in discussing about the critical areas of planning, project controls, PMO or PPM frameworks please reach out to Karl Reilly or Adam Skinner BSc, MSc (Oxon), ChPP. 🚀 #AIPMO #ProjectManagement #DeeconConsulting #PMO #consulting

🌳 Celebrating Milestones with a Positive Impact 🌳 At Deecon, we believe that loyalty and dedication should be celebrated in a way that makes a difference. This month, we're proud to mark the work anniversaries of six of our incredible team members. To honor their contributions, we’ve planted 12 trees as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. Our initiative with Trees For All is our way of saying thank you to our employees in a way that brings positive environmental impact and long-term change. This month, trees have been planted in Borneo, helping to restore the tropical forest that is a habitat for a variety of wildlife. Here’s to many more anniversaries, and a greener future for all! 🌱 #deecon #treesforall #sustainability #workanniversaries

At Deecon we really enjoyed reading the new piece of thought leadership published by our Chief Consulting Officer Adam Skinner BSc, MSc (Oxon), ChPP and the Association for Project Management (APM). Adam leads the APM's Portfolio Management community and this latest article looks at how an organisation should grow and retain the next generation of portfolio managers. If you’d like to discuss your portfolio or programme management challenges or capability needs, please feel free to reach out to Adam or the wider team at Deecon. #deecon #consulting #thoughtleadership #projectmanagement #portfoliomanagers
Back in the dim and distant days of early Summer the APM’s Portfolio Interest Group hosted 20 Portfolio Directors and Professionals from across industries and the public sector for one of our popular Portfolio Director’s Dinner sessions. This dinner focused on the critical topic of ‘How we grow and retain the Portfolio Managers and Directors of the future’ and it was a fascinating discussion. We’ve now turned this into a piece of APM thought-leadership in our popular Portfolio Director’s Dinner series which I’m hugely excited to share here: https://lnkd.in/eBn-5MnM It was a great evening and the topics ranged from: · What makes a good portfolio manager · What training and development supports good portfolio management, and · How the profession will need to change and grow to support the aspirations of millennial portfolio managers. This final point was a really interesting discussion point as it looked at how future portfolio managers will want to include ‘value judgements’ into their portfolio prioritisation (such as ESG aspects of new projects) and not just simple cost/benefit analysis. There was also a strong focus on the obvious area of data and AI but also on · emotional intelligence and people skills, and · strategic awareness and joining the dots We hope you enjoy the read and any thoughts or suggestions for the next topic of the dinner please do get in touch. As ever huge thanks to our awesome community of portfolio directors: James Garner Kirsty L. Greener Steve Clark Steve Leary Scott Sellars, ACMA, CGMA Nicky Walsh (nee Bloomer) Simon Harwood Michelle Downs Mike Chavez Romeena Haider David Ollerhead James Stokes Petula Allison Richard Charman David Gunning Nik O'Dwyer Portfolio manager Jo Carlisle and to the APM and Sarah Slater and Maya Creasey for facilitating. #portfoliomanagement #apm #transformation.
