It's a big day for planning and infrastructure today!📻 The Planning and Infrastructure Bill will be introduced to parliament today and Eleanor Deeley joined BBC Radio 5 Live's Wake Up To Money early this morning to discuss the bill. The wide-ranging reforms include plans to streamline the planning process and changing the way developers meet environmental obligations. 🗣️ "It enables us to get on site, to plan homes and commercial space strategically and support our growth as a business, because so much of our capital is tied up in planning applications." Championing SME housebuilders in Westminster 🏡 Eleanor Deeley, joint managing director at Deeley Group, joined the Home Builders Federation (HBF) at 10 Downing Street this morning! She was part of a roundtable discussion which profiled the critical role SME housebuilders will have in tackling the UK’s housing crisis. Eleanor joined policy officials, advisors and other members of the HBF to discuss challenges, policy and the changes required to support SMEs. SMEs are uniquely positioned to deliver vital new homes in communities across UK, with an understanding of what communities require and the agility to react to local needs, ensuring long-term benefits to the local economy and people. The group discussed a range of impacting factors of SME housebuilders, with the roundtable calling for changes to go beyond policy, including the overhaul of processes and the removal of red tape to create an environment where SMEs can thrive and contribute effectively to national housing needs. #housing #sme #planning #housebuilder #thedeeleyway

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Affordable rented and shared ownership housing in #Coventry 🏡 🏡 Deeley Group continued its 70-year commitment to the community in Wyken when it started work five years ago on a development of 39 new homes for Stonewater It marked our fourth development in the area, adding affordable housing to the school, church and church hall that we had already built in the area. We set about regenerating a brownfield former school site into a new development which delivered on the affordable homes requirement in the city. Deeley Group's capability took the project from a reserved matters application through to delivery of the homes, with the result being a high-quality scheme of affordable homes for people in Wyken.
