Depop is hiring! We’re looking for Student Ambassadors in the US to represent Depop on their campus for the Spring Semester 2025. We care about creating a community that believes in circularity and sustainable fashion, and we want Ambassadors who feel the same way. ♻️ As a Student Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to host pop-ups, clothing swaps, tabling events and more at your university, in a team of 2 per campus. The community-powered circular fashion marketplace. Shop what you love. Sell your clothes. Do it all over.
About us
Depop is the community-powered circular fashion marketplace where anyone can buy, sell and discover desirable, affordable secondhand fashion. Together with its community of approximately 35 million registered users, Depop is on a mission to make fashion circular - encouraging more people to choose secondhand and extend the lives of their clothes, redefining fashion consumption. The company was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in London, with offices in New York and Manchester and a team of approximately 400 employees. In 2021, Depop became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etsy - the global marketplace for unique and creative goods - and continues to operate as a standalone company. Find out more at www.depop.com Our mission is to make fashion circular and to create an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, no matter who they are or where they’re from. Just as our platform connects people globally, we believe our workplace should reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. We thrive on the power of different perspectives and experiences, knowing they drive innovation and bring us closer to our users. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer, providing employment opportunities without regard to age, ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy or maternity, marriage and civil partnership, or any other protected status. We’re continuously evolving our recruitment processes to ensure fairness and are open to accommodating any needs you might have.

👀 Did you know that fall and winter can be one of the most impactful times of year to shop secondhand instead of new? Cold weather essentials like jackets, boots and fleeces can drive an average water saving almost 3 times higher than summer items, when you buy them secondhand on Depop. Finding a leather jacket on Depop rather than new could save over 140 lbs CO2e - equivalent to the carbon footprint of an iPhone! And tracking down those perfect winter boots secondhand could save the equivalent CO2e of driving more than 300 miles by car, plus over 3,500 glasses of water. If you’re building out your cold weather wardrobe, that’s more incentive than ever to think secondhand first. ♻️ ♻️ ♻️ For more about how we’ve calculated this, check out our explainer at the link below, which includes a link to our full methodology. https://shorturl.at/qqatW https://shorturl.at/ZHGLm *Averages are calculated by comparing item subcategories split by typical seasonal use, and the iPhone comparison is based on data from Apple on the lifecycle of an iPhone 13 128GB, including sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, shipping and the end of use.

In collaboration with our DEI partner Colorintech, Depop’s Lead Technical Programme Manager, Khadra Aden, took the stage at Black Tech Fest 2024 for the ‘Applying AI’ panel, sharing valuable insights on the impact of AI on job roles and the broader industry. The discussion highlighted how AI has evolved in recent years and explored how Depop are using AI tools to drive personal efficiency and innovation within our teams. It was an inspiring reminder of how AI is positively reshaping the way we work and pushing boundaries in the tech space 🚀 #BlackTechFest2024 #AI #TechInnovation

Such an honor to join the Clinton Global Initiative community this week for #CGI2024 in New York! It was a pleasure to share the stage with Jesper Brodin, Svanika Balasubramanian and Ginger Zee to discuss innovation in circularity, and to hear from so many remarkable changemakers addressing some of the world's most pressing challenges. Thank you, CGI, for having us! #CGI2024

We’re excited to welcome back some familiar faces who have chosen to return to Depop after exploring new opportunities. A big shoutout to our Repoppers; Ali Kagalwalla, Rosie Hartman, Josh Smart, Katrina Michanicou, and Joseph Pallamidessi 🎉 Joseph shared his thoughts on coming back, "Returning to Depop two years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve made. When people ask why, I always say it’s the strong friendships, sense of community, and shared mission that make this place more than just a job. I was excited to work again with brilliant colleagues who’ve become dear friends, and I’m grateful for the trust placed in me to lead crucial company-wide projects. If I had to make the choice again, I’d come back in a heartbeat!" Their return is a testament to the strength of our culture and the deep sense of community we’ve cultivated together. We’re thrilled to see how they’ll continue to shape the future of Depop!

More than 80 million items have been given a second life by Depop’s community since our marketplace started. That’s the equivalent of 10 pieces of clothing for every person in New York City. It’s 80 million items that didn’t need to be bought new. Making circular fashion more desirable and accessible is at the heart of our mission, and we’re proud of the real-world impact our community is driving. But we know there’s so much more to do, and we’re constantly working to improve the way we show up in the world. This week, we’ve published our Year 1 update on our Impact Goals - capturing what we’ve done in the last year to move toward our longer-term objectives across circularity, DEI, net zero and sustainable operations. From sharing our first Environmental Impact Measurement Methodology to launching and scaling our ‘Repop’ feature and making our product experience more inclusive; we’re working across five key pillars to drive positive impact for our community, teams and the wider world. ♻ Read our full update here >>> https://shorturl.at/YMWBd And learn more about our environmental impact calculations here >>> https://shorturl.at/NL0mo
