Exploring the Future of Leadership and Organization
About us
Founded in 2010, Developing Leaders Quarterly (DLQ) is a joint venture of "Ideas for Leaders" and the "Center for the Future of Organization at the Drucker School of Management, with the mission to bridge the gap between scholars and practitioners in the field of leadership and organization. Combining the assets of Ideas for Leaders and the Center for the Future of Organization enables us to leverage established content partnerships with 50+ global universities and a global corporate relationship network that provides access to real-life experiences of leaders and organizations. In the spirit of Peter Drucker, we feature a wide range of perspectives, such as artists, political scientists, anthropologists, psychologist, and more to explore current issues through less typical lenses. Each quarterly edition is dedicated to a topic of strategic importance which we explore from the perspectives of academia, business, and consulting. In addition, we publish special anthologies that dig deeper into current topics. DLQ is available both digitally and in a new format of a pocket-sized booklet for a convenient off-screen experience, making it a trusted collectible companion. More than just being a publication, our initiative is designed to serve as a catalyst for personal and organizational development, as we strive to integrate thought and practice leadership with dialogue-oriented audience engagement.

#AI, especially it's generative variety, continues to rank high on the agenda of leaders and their organizations. While its impact is pervasive, it represents a particular challenge for those tasked with #developing #leaders and designing #learning architectures. The recent session of the Executive Corporate Learning Forum (ECLF) that featured Detlef Hold (Roche) and was hosted by DLQ co-publisher Roland Deiser ties nicely into the theme of our upcoming issue, which will explore various angles of what we called "#Augmented #Intelligence".

Today we were lucky and privileged to have been treated by Roche's Detlef Hold with insights from his amazing journey through the short but rich history of #GenAI and its impact on the world of #learning and #development (L&D). Over the last two years, Detlef has been tirelessly curating the deluge of frameworks, use cases, research papers, and other publications that proliferated once we encountered the new powers of #ChatGTP. The image below that accompanies my post is just a super small selection from his LinkedIn thread. And while curating a deluge is an art in itself, it only becomes meaningful when put into a larger context that connects and contextualizes the scattered insights – which is exactly what Detlef did. Add to this feat a group of senior, highly seasoned L&D professionals from major global corporations, who added their own perspectives and experiences. What you get is a rich and unique tapestry of the transformative impact of AI and the essential role that the practice of L&D must play to harvest its potential. And you learn about the challenges L&D faces on its own journey towards a new identity that needs to transcend the narrow constraints of #HR and become a vital #business enabler. Thank you, Detlef, and thank you L&D leaders who tuned in to this session of the Executive Corporate Learning Forum (ECLF), which I had the pleasure to chair. They mitigated time zones from Europe, the US, China, India, and even Kazakhstan. Achim Wolter (Baloise), Peter Spannagl (Bayer), Dr. Martina Mönninghoff and Jennifer Meindel( Bertelsmann), Dr. Claudia Deniers (Siemens Energy), Claudia Rautenberg and Viktor Szücs (Lufthansa Group), Valentina Satarova (Eurasia Resource Group), Trish Uhl, PMP (Edward Jones), Eva Sage-Gavin (Accenture), Wei-Han Lin (Novartis), Robert van der Ven (Volvo), Stephanie Conway (LinkedIn), Elisabeth Prchla (Merck), Jenny Lin (Siemens), , Joern Barth (TUEV SUED), Gary S. (Uniqa), and others. Now it will be even more interesting to continue our conversation at our upcoming annual meeting in November in Berlin. How can businesses leverage #AI to transform their operations and create new business models? It’s a new chapter of #digital #transformation that offers unprecedented capabilities in content creation, process automation, customer support and business reinvention. It also requires new skills to fully tap into its potential. Few have more insight into this impact than Eve Psalti, who is Microsoft’s Principal Group Program Manager for the AI Azure Platform. Eve and her team are working with 300+ major corporations on co-developing AI solutions that drive business performance. Session 3 of our series “Perspectives on AI” will allow members and invited guests of the Executive Corporate Learning Forum (ECLF), which include Siemens, Lufthansa, Roche, and others, engage in an intimate dialogue with Eve. I will have the pleasure to moderate this event, which will allow us a rare peek into the co-creation dynamics that shape the implementation of innovative AI solutions in complex organizations. Interested in attending? Send me a DM or check out https://lnkd.in/gaE6tpPD where you can apply for an invitation. Thank you for sharing your inspiring project, Jason Wisdom and Agustin Couto!
Creating lasting impact takes a village, and this program is a testament to that. Kicking off in 2018 The Design Gym went on a multi year journey with Meta to reimagine how sales could be done throughout Latin America. The inspiring leaders at Meta driving this charge Agustin Couto and Santiago Palacio worked tirelessly to create a sales culture built on customer centricity, co-creation with clients, and true, strategic partnership. Six years after starting this work we all finally sat down to document it. We’re grateful to Developing Leaders Quarterly for giving us the platform to tell this story, Roddy Millar and Roland Deiser were incredible partners. And to our current and former team members, across New York City and Sao Paulo, who conceived of this idea, brought it to life, and helped tell this story; Kelsye Gould, Gian Taralli, Jason Cha, Laura Dusi, Laura Lemos, and Bruno Gonçalves what a journey it’s been. And for the hundreds of incredible internal partners at Meta that brought this to life, and the courageous brand leaders that were open to a new way of collaboration, a very heartfelt thank you. Very few things are cooler than when clients, and collaborators become dear friends. This is one of those programs that will stick with me for years to come. #sales #consultativeselling #InnovationHacking https://lnkd.in/eEKPhfPm

We must #innovate the practice of #innovation. Corporate innovation remains one of the big challenges organizations face when they have reached a certain maturity stage and want to grow or reinvent themselves. We know that “exploiting” the present requires a different mind- and capability set as “exploring” future opportunities. How can we mitigate these conflicting rationales? How can we move beyond performing just “innovation theater” – the hackathons, pitch-me sessions, or agile sprints that remain empty exercises? You are cordially invited to another installment of the “ABC” Roundtable series of the Center for the Future of Organization, Drucker School of Management which we produce in association with our publishing partner Developing Leaders Quarterly (DLQ), whose most recent issue is dedicated to "Innovating Innovation". As always, look forward to an inspiring and thought-provoking fireside chat among outstanding thought and practice leaders who explore with me these and other questions from the angle of Academia (A), Business (B), and Consulting (C). They are: -- Valery Yakubovich, professor at The Wharton School and Executive Director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management (the "A") -- Michael Nichols, who heads the Corporate Venturing activities at MANN+HUMMEL and served previously in a similar role at Bosch (the "B") -- Andrew Binns, Co-founder of the innovation-specialized consultancy Change Logic and author of "Corporate Explorer" and "Corporate Explorer Field Book" (the "C") You can register for this free event here: https://lnkd.in/gqEq5Gzb #webinarseries #roundtable #dialogue #transformation

Founder/CEO @ WE Global Studios | AI-driven SaaS Startup Platform, powering diverse-led tech startups around the globe. Serial Entrepreneur, TEDx Speaker, Author and Business Strategy and Mindset Coach.
I am honored to extend my deepest gratitude to Developing Leaders Quarterly, especially to Roland Deiser and Roddy Millar, for the prestigious opportunity to feature WE Global Studios in Issue 43, themed "Innovating Innovation." This recognition not only highlights our dedication to shaping the future of the innovation ecosystem, in particular for diverse founders, but also has provided us with a platform to share the insights and perspectives we've gained from our hands-on experience in the field working with women-led tech companies, no Manolo Blahniks needed. You might not agree, but this piece highlights what we feel is the white elephant in the room that is the critical yet overlooked cause of emerging business failure globally for everyone, not just women. During a time of sound bites, fluff pieces and superficial news, it is so important to have publications such as Developing Leaders Quarterly that are committed to connect thought and practice leaders on issues that are critical for the future of leadership and organization. The article is available below but the publication is gated for subscribers only. Highly recommend subscribing. https://lnkd.in/gcs-xVsz
