Last week Digital Beehive had the pleasure of sponsoring the NEC Contracts® Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong.   The event began with welcome remarks from Renee Paik, the Head of NEC Contracts for Asia Pacific and opening remarks from the Secretary for Development (Works), Development Bureau, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Ricky Lau.   Peter Winnicott MRICS talk on transforming procurement highlighted how NEC4 ECC can simplify and add flexibility to procurement processes and shared examples of adopting the NEC4 Alliance Contract (ALC).   Ringo MOK Wing-cheong's discussion on promoting sustainable development in Hong Kong highlighted the benefits of using smart and innovative technology in project delivery and explored the advantages of applying the X29 clause to strategies and plans. Sarah Bunting & Sofía García's session on The Translation and Implementation of Standardised Contracting: The Partnership with MEF, Peru, reviewed the progress so far and outlined the future roadmap for NEC and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). Daniel Cheung, ANDY KWOK, Wong Fai, Mark Simister & Isabelle Y. S Chan’s talk explored Unlocking Opportunities in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Region for NEC Contracts.   Cheuk-lun Leung, Ellen Nga-see Cheng, Leong Francis & Vincent Chan session focused on building a collaborative culture and implementing it effectively.
