About us
Digitalis is a digital and online advisory firm working with clients to protect and manage their corporate and individual profiles. We work closely with leading companies, the public sector, private individuals, and business figures to help them shape their online reputation and to better manage their digital footprint. We are also a technology company. Our strength lies in our unique technology platform and the expertise of our software engineers, bespoke tools and analytics, and designers. We are able not only to advise a client on what online narrative and web presence would best suit their needs. We can also create it, protect it online and ensure its visibility. Digitalis helps clients strengthen, protect, and fine-tune their online profile in ways that advance their business and personal interests. Working with clients directly or through their legal or communications advisors, we help them shape their online narratives – transmitted through their websites, social media and third-party content – and ensure that the right messaging is visible to the key audiences. We also help clients safeguard their digital narrative and online story by displacing inaccurate or one-sided content from search pages. Using our technology platform, our digital analysts, and our expertise in the architecture of the internet, we provide online intelligence in support of litigation and to help law firms manage all aspects of reputation risk arising from online content. We map out reputational concerns and risks online for individuals and clients. Digitalis was established in 2009 in the UK and is based in St James’s St, London. We were founded as a tech company and technology remains at our heart. Bespoke retrieval tools and automated web-crawling software, supported by our dedicated team of in-house developers and our understanding of search engine algorithms, provides us with a world-leading capability.

We face growing vulnerabilities as individuals and organisations, and it has never been more important to implement necessary security measures and thus minimise the risks from these activities. In the latest issue of our newsletter, Digitalis senior associate, Sky Ojo, delves into examples of how AI-generated email, audio and video content is being used to create ever more convincing scams. Last week, Digitalis attended the 2024 Concordia Annual Summit, New York City. We co-hosted a roundtable with the Federal Communications Commission to discuss how best to mitigate against further weaponisation of the internet in the era of generative AI. It was a fascinating discussion that contemplated a range of crucial questions, including: · How is the weaponisation of the web evolving in 2024 and what are the most significant threats for civilised society, democracy, and public discourse? · What lessons have we learned from Section 230 in adequately safeguarding against damaging online activities, and how might US lawmakers enact long overdue improvements here? Thank you to Commissioner Nathan Simington and Michael Sweeney of the FCC for collaborating with us on this roundtable. Our thanks to the following for their participation: · Shiran Mlamdovsky Somech, Founder, Generative AI for Good · Ambassador Ana Irene Delgado, Ambassador to the OAS, Republic of Panama · Lance Pierce, CEO, NetHope · Brad Staples, CEO, APCO · Adrian Cervantes Founder and CEO, Biossmann · Pankaj Kedia, Chief AI Officer, Biossmann · KEVIN PETSCHOW, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Nokia · Clemencia Mosquera-Perez, Consultant, Unchained · Julia Kril Executive Director, B&K Agency · Kevin Murphy, Vice President, Issues & Advocacy - Low Carbon Solutions, ExxonMobil. · Kenneth Nelson, Owner, General Equities

Businesses are racing to push out AI-powered search engines. However, they seem to know that their AI is unreliable and companies now add bold disclaimers advising you to double-check any responses. With generative AI attempting to extrapolate and repackage content, the scope for error from these tools is increasing.
