We offer a wide variety of webinars and today the spotlight is on our Prevention of Sexual Harassment webinar. The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 requires employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in their workplace. From October 26 2024, there is a requirement for organisations to ensure they are putting in steps to prevent sexual harassment. If you have not started to implement any activities or practice to address this, we can support you in the following ways: - Sexual harassment training - Review or development of a sexual harassment policy/guidance - Support to diversity champions/bullying and harassment officers so they can support employees/colleagues - Review and report of your current practice in reporting sexual harassment, communications and preventative activities to ensure employees in the workplace are clear regarding your commitment to prevent sexual harassment. Diverse Matters can support your organisation, get in touch today! We'd love to hear from you so call us on 02475 101500, email us at hello@diversematters.co.uk #SexualHarrasment #WorkerProtection #EDI #Training #Webinars #DiverseMatters *Image Description : Image with the wording ‘We offer Sexual Harassment webinars and so much more Natasha Broomfield-Reid

As South Asian Heritage Month draws to a close, we’re excited to share another inspiring reflection from our associate, Khesha Patel. "As a human, ‘free to be me’ simply means living my authentic self and being able to make personal choices about my life. Growing up, I often conformed to others' standards, wanting to fit in outside the house. Despite the UK's renowned multicultural society, my school lacked diversity, and as a Gujarati and Hindu, I hesitated to share my cultural experiences. However, looking back, I cherish those beautiful memories. Gujarati cuisine was a daily delight – from ‘Shaks’ to ‘Rotli,’ and the joy of music and language, including Hindi. Festivals like Navaratri and Holi were vibrant highlights, with colourful outfits, dancing, and playful water fights. While I once hesitated to share my background, I now embrace it fully. Living in a diverse environment has fuelled my curiosity and eagerness to learn about others’ cultures and backgrounds.” The observance of South Asian Heritage Month runs until 18th August 2024. Take this opportunity to celebrate your heritage or learn about someone else’s! 🌏 #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #FreeToBeMe #CulturalCelebration #DiversityAndInclusion #HeritageMonth *Image Description : Card with the words 'Free to be me' thoughts from Khesha Patel Natasha Broomfield-Reid

Today, Khesha Patel shares what South Asian Heritage Month means to her: "South Asian Heritage Month means a lot to me as I didn't get the opportunity to be myself growing up. Though I now work for an amazing organisation where I can be myself, that has not always been the case. So I think it's a fantastic opportunity to encourage people to embrace their roots and be proud. South Asian Heritage Month is a fantastic opportunity for people to share insights into their culture and embrace multiculturalism." Being proud of our heritage, sharing it, and respecting the heritage of others is more important now than ever. How is your organisation encouraging people to bring their whole selves to work? How are you fostering the conversations and respect that are needed? Tell us in the comments below. #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #EmbraceYourRoots #CulturalDiversity #Inclusion #DiverseMatters #ProudHeritage #Multiculturalism #bringyourwholeselftowork Natasha Broomfield-Reid *Image Description - What does South Asian Heritage Month mean to you by Khesa Patel
