LEGO® World Builder has been shortlisted in The Stationers' Company Innovation Excellence Awards! 📒 🙌 The book has been shortlisted in the 'Product Design' category for the innovative design of its reusable brick sorting tray and successful use of newly sourced sustainable materials. Our iconic new book with the LEGO Group includes 150 bricks and a sorting tray and has been a huge design project for us at DK. There was a huge amount of ❤️ in the room at BAFTA last night. Hosting a celebration of 50 glorious years of groundbreaking DK #books was a huge privilege for me and a perfect opportunity to thank our amazing authors, illustrators, and brand partners. Thank you for enriching our lives, for making our gardens flourish, for the rum punch and the tomato soup cake. For opening our eyes to new Everests to conquer, both within the world and within ourselves. Thank you for helping us raise the next generation to be more empathetic, more open, more engaged, and more creative than the previous one. For moving the world forward, one book at a time. Our commitment is to taking bold creative risks together to reach the widest global readership. And if celebrating all of that wasn’t enough, to top it off we announced the VERY exciting launch of DK RED. Liz Gough and her amazing team will be bringing to life the vision for this bold new list. An imprint that will help readers live a bigger, richer life, full of inspiration and adventure. We painted the town red at BAFTA last night at DK's 50th birthday party, where I announced the launch of DK RED, our first ever imprint here at DK. 🥂 This new imprint will be the home for lifestyle publishing and narrative non-fiction that will enrich the lives of readers and inspire them to live bigger lives, and we are launching with some amazing authors - with more to be announced soon 👀 The imprint will embody the best of DK’s core values by collaborating with the best talent, delivering innovative design concepts and wrapping them in beautiful packages. I will admit to a slightly sore head this morning, but it was all totally worth it - and seeing so many people gathered in the room to celebrate DK's 50th was a huge highlight for me in what has been an incredibly busy four months in the business.
