Three members of DMGT’s commercial legal team spent the morning with law firm Dentons LLP volunteering at Whitechapel Mission for a ‘Breakfast Challenge’. The self-funded homeless charity in London is open throughout the year and provides assistance to as many as 300 people a day. The ‘Breakfast Challenge’ involves a team of volunteers to prepare, cook and serve breakfast from 8am to those less fortunate. The team of eight, which included DMGT’s Francesca Bexon, Liz Debski and Nina Wilkins, arrived at the shelter for a 5.30am start. During the two-hour shift, they served 120 breakfasts to those in need of a nourishing meal at the volunteer-led Mission. Group legal advisor, Nina Wilkins, said: “After our early morning start, we prepped and cooked all elements of a full English breakfast, including pouring many cups of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. We also gave out toiletries including soap, razors, shampoo, and toothbrushes to those coming into the Mission for a shower. We were all pleased to have had the chance to help, if only in a small way.” For details on how to volunteer or to donate much needed food/products visit: https://lnkd.in/egpk6X3M
