Dominus is honoured to be part of Open House London this year, showcasing the incredible Migration Museum at 65 Crutched Friars. We are creating a new permanent home for the Migration Museum in a three-floor 30,000 sq ft free-to-enter space, as well as developing 782 student homes within an inclusive and community-centric destination, with a new pocket park and a public roof terrace.    Open House is your first opportunity to see the literal foundations of Britain's first permanent Migration Museum and hear about its journey - from a project conceived over a decade ago that worked in a range of locations; its first home in a London Fire Brigade workshop in Lambeth, to its longest temporary home in Lewisham Shopping Centre.   Tours will run on Saturday 14 September and 21 September. It's so exciting to see work underway at our 65 Crutched Friars scheme. This is a truly unique project, bringing forward a new permanent home for the Migration Museum in a purpose-built, 30,000sqft, free-to-enter space, as a place to celebrate migration and the benefits it has brought to the UK. We’re delighted to support the Migration Museum by providing this space on a 60-year lease, with no rent or service charge payable. In addition, the scheme will deliver much-needed student homes in the City alongside new and improved public realm as a place to unite students, professionals and locals.

We recently had a fantastic visit to the site of our future permanent home, where the vision of the UK's first national Migration Museum is starting to take shape. Seeing the foundations being laid after a decade of hard work is truly inspiring. We still have a journey ahead, but we wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way—whether through funding, collaboration, volunteering, or other means. Your support has been instrumental in bringing our vision to life. A special thanks to Dominus and McAleer & Rushe for bringing this project to life! Your dedication and expertise are making this possible. Our mission is now, more important than ever, and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without you. Thank you!

Hello, Chelmsford! This week we submitted plans for the exciting redevelopment of The Meadows shopping centre in the heart of the city.   We hope to create a thriving and sustainable mixed-use scheme that celebrates Chelmsford’s character, heritage, and identity.   Alongside 8,500 sqm of retail, commercial and leisure space and 1.7 hectares of public realm, we hope to be delivering over 700 much-needed new homes, creating a residential neighbourhood within the city while alleviating pressure on greenfield land for housing delivery.   With thanks to the local community with whom we crafted our vision for the site across eight months of consultation. We look forward to transforming The Meadows into a destination fit for a growing and ambitious city like Chelmsford, with a future as rich as its heritage.   Tristram Taylor, Development Manager at Dominus, said: “By working collaboratively with Chelmsford City Council, we have created a vision for a distinctive destination, not just buildings, within which residents and visitors can enjoy. We have worked with the community to understand local priorities, crafting a future for the site as rich as its heritage, one that nurtures local initiatives, brings housing back into the city, supports its economic potential, and delivers long-term positive impact for both Chelmsford and its people.”   JTP LLP   #Dominus #Chelmsford #TheMeadowsChelmsford #MixedUse #Community

Our ambitious roadmap to achieve net zero across our hotel portfolio is one step closer, thanks to our partnership with the international sustainability body, Green Key International. Our entire portfolio of hotels, including Lost Property, The Dixon, Courtyard Oxford City Centre and the Hampton by Hiltons in Bath and London City, have successfully achieved this prestigious global accreditation. Green Key sets the standard for environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism sector. Our hotels were assessed against rigorous criteria, including staff involvement, guest information, and sustainable management of energy, waste, water, cleaning products, and food and drinks. Our success is a result of robust operational practices alongside strong collaboration with hotel partners and our supply chain. Moving forward, we will continue to invest in innovative technologies and practices that reduce our environmental impact. Anupriya Rajpal, Development Director, said: “At Dominus, we believe that sustainable tourism not only benefits the environment but also enhances the overall guest experience. Travellers can enjoy their stay without compromising on quality while reducing their carbon footprint. Thank you to the Green Key programme for fostering a network within the industry for sharing innovation and best practices, which we are proud to now be part of.” #Dominus #GreenKeyAccreditation #NetZero #Sustainability #SustainableTourism #ESG #Hospitality

Dominus has secured planning for a new 237-room adaptive-reuse hotel scheme the City of London. Anupriya Rajpal, Development Director at Dominus said: "Our expanding development team are thrilled to deliver this new hotel, a great addition to the three hotels in Central London that we own and operate in-house. Securing this planning approval from the City of London is a real milestone in progressing our plans for 5-10 Great Tower Street, ahead of project completion in 2025. Our collaboration with The City of London Planning team to bring these proposals forward will create a new attraction within the City, boosting activity in the immediate surroundings and supporting the Destination City initiative.  Former office buildings that are underutilised have huge potential for new uses, especially in prime locations. Coupled with our focus on projects with strong ESG credentials, this building which can be retrofitted and repurposed exceptionally well suits our vision perfectly." This permission from The City’s planning team demonstrates their commitment to facilitating building reuse within The Square Mile. The rejuvenation of this building will also help to support the ‘Destination City’ initiative, ensuring that The City is attractive to a broad range of visitors with a strong offering of places to work, live, learn and socialise. We're partnering with Creative Land Trust on the cultural and community space that will span the ground floor of our Holborn PBSA development, facilitating CLT's fourth creative space in the capital.    The 8,000 sq ft of space has the potential to support as many as 80 artists and makers and will connect City Thameslink and the new Museum of London via a public walkway. This initiative will build on the area's creative heritage and invest in its creative future. Each space will be leased at a reduced rate to creatives and entrepreneurs, helping them take advantage of the area’s heavy footfall while enhancing the neighborhood’s reputation as a cultural hotspot.    We've been delighted to work with the Creative Land Trust team from the very early stages of the development. This collaborative approach incubated the opportunity for purpose-built affordable creative workspaces, where creative production can thrive. "Holborn Viaduct is a really exciting opportunity to embed cultural production in the City of London. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Dominus on bringing forward purposefully designed affordable creative workspace. Providing secure space for artists and makers to create, craft, and design not only builds on the City’s varied heritage but will also showcase the interconnectedness between economic, social, and creative activities." - Gemma Dean, Head of Development, CLT. #Dominus #CreativeLandTrust #PBSA #CityofLondon #MuseumofLondon
